Hello Dakka dakka,

I am going to be getting paid £200 soon and so I wanted to get into Age of Sigmar, the link above will take you to slideshow of all the armies I like and what I would plan on buying for them with the £200. You may be thinking, hang on a second that's a bit more than £200, well that's because I used a different retailer, known as "Alchemist Workshop". Please reply back, which of the five armies you think I should do, I like all of them equally, so which one should I get. Also, please don't suggest changes I could make to the lists, I have chosen the models I love and the army layouts that I like, I play for fun, not competitively xD. Basically, please choose between; Sylvaneth, Skaven, Seraphon, Stormcast and Ironjawz!

Thanks for any responses I get

I personally think Sylvaneth would be the most fun, both for gameplay and painting. I love the mechanics with the woods and i think they are pretty forgiving with simple paint schemes but also look absolutely incredible if they are painted really well

I know you said not to mess with the lists, but one thing to consider is that sylvaneth are about to get new releases and so, as long as you still prefer your list there is no issue, but it would be sad if you dropped the cash and then found out a week later you wanted something else instead

The only reason I actually am bothering to stop at one this particular thread among many is due to the fact that you actually made a slideshow, I admire the dedication my friend. Now for my comment? Its better to start by seeing what you don't like, to diminish buyers remorse towards other armies. For starters lets remove Stormcast Eternals, not because they are SPESS MAHRINS, but you will probably face a lot of Stormcasts due to them being in the starter kit and it will lead to less interesting games. Orruks will probably get rather repetitive as your army choice has you painting the same model over, and over, and over again. That leaves three options: Treants, Ratmen, and Gekkomen. Gekkomen eat ratmen so why would you get ratmen? (Seriously, as your first army its rather unwise to get one with so many models so you can get to playing quickly) I love your Lizard army choices, but I have to agree with the above guy on all fronts. The Treants are getting so many new (fantastic) models and I would recommend waiting for them before you make your purchases, especially The God of Life-Professional Beetle Rider.

Another vote for the treefolk. They are one of the rare model ranges that require very little painting effort (base, wash, drybrush looks great) yet if you go the extra mile they are some of the best models in the range.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

Skaven can be low model count if you go clans moulder or skyre; look awesome too!

I think the Skaven looks the most fun. I would drop the second 2 boxes of plague monks and go for something else though (are plague monks battleline in a Chaos allegiance army?)

Sylvaneth would also be a choice because they are the new hotness and have an amazing battletome. I wouldn't go for your selection personally though. 5 boxes of Dyrads? That enough to make you go barking mad. Get some of the newer units instead! :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
