Interesting, as supposedly it's the same universe as the latest Godzilla.....though I'm not sure I like the monsters getting larger and larger.

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Basically the movie is a setup for Godzilla vs. Kong, which needs him to be as massive as the new Godzilla.

The old b/w one - great fun film - loved the new PJ one even though as usual it was overlong. Lots of really great homages to the original as well.
This looks like it oculd be fun - SLJ will be his normal self, hopefully its much better than the last P. Poor Godzilla film

Which movie was that? The one with Bryan Cranston? I didn't think it was that bad. A bit too much human input and not enough monsters building smashing.

Agreed! I rather like that one, and this one looks good too.
(I'm starting to think that M. Morden watches different versions of movies, trailers and TV shows! )

Or shockingly my firends and I have different opinions to other people and even sometimes each other........

Probably not good with actors names - actresses yeah. My firend and I didn;like various elements - one of which was the lack of visible monster - we enjoy tension building - so something like Monsters worked for us not seeing the creautres - but only showing the devestating aftermath as if we just missed it just gave us a sense of having missed the good bits - the start with the reactor and the main guys wife to us seemed hilariously bad in every possible way.
To be honest we were simply bored by the time we actually got to see the monsters, rather than say a vast fleet of warships sailing stupidly close to each other.
It didn;t have the effects to make it a good fun moster movie and was too stupid and badly plotted to be anything else. In our opinion of course.

I was facepalming through the whole trailer. It's just so dumb. How has no one seen kong when they fly in... and then they act all suprised when they see him. He's the size of a mountain for Pete's sake. How does he even hide. They need glasses with frikkin telescopes or something if they really did not see him. And the giant spider going over them made me want to see it even less... just nope, nope, nope. I hate spiders.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
I don't know. Something about it doesn't sit right. Maybe the fact Kong is hundreds of feet tall...mmm ok. I think its because I was so up for Gozilla and was so burned, and this feels like that.
Wow that actress is sure easy on the eyes.

Looks like 60s or early 70s. Kind of homage to the bad 70s King Kong movie (note the oil freighter in one shot).

Im sure this movie will be fine, I liked Godzilla 2014 and Kong looks sized up to face that Godzilla. Hopefully the new Godzilla vs King Kong will be better than the old one.
Also I'm still not sure why so many people complain about Godzilla not being featured as much in the 2014 movie, even in the older movies there were alot where he wasn't featured that prominently until the ending of the movie.
Could it have used a bit more of the King of Monsters? Sure, but I liked what we did see of him. I'll admit that the human characters did get a little tiring after a while, but for me it made the King's scenes better.
Are we even sure this is Kong and not his dad if its the 70's?
Love the old B/W version and the PJ one, crossed fingers this is as good!

Mmm...Godzilla wacks old dad Kong, and young Kong Jr. comes a' callin...
As a fellow mammal, I have to root for Kong in that match.

Well.......Godzilla was around since the 1950's. Who's to say that the Godzilla vs. Kong movie won't be a prequel to the Godzilla movie?
As for the PJ kong movie from 2005, I just hate Jack Black. The only movie I have liked him in was The Jackal, and only because Bruce Willis blows his arm off with a cannon.
Wife watched the trailer and said it was pretty good, so I'll probably go see it if nothing else than to make her happy. Plus I'm an easy sucker for monster movies
By all estimates, Godzilla dwarfs King Kong in pretty much every way. Even if the new film is set to make King Kong the tallest he’s ever been at 100-feet, that’s still almost 200-feet less than the last Godzilla. Now, anyone can tell you that size doesn’t matter, but in the case of two monsters fighting my money will probably be on the 400-foot nuclear lizard.
Trailer looks good! I'm interested in the scale of Skull Island - are they going to have a stab at making it believable for Kong to be hidden away, or are they just gonna go 'hell with it, enjoy your giant gorilla'?
If I'm honest, I'd probably be okay with either one.
The trailer looks really good, consider me very interested!
