Hi, everyone. What does the community suggest as a good source for finding the relative value of OOP games or miniatures? Unfortunately I'm trying to put some values to several stolen items.

Any suggestions or input is appreciated.

Thanks

I find that going to ebay and searching "SOLD" listings is the best way to find the online value of most anything. You'll get a pretty good idea of what an item has sold for in the past few months.

Sorry to hear about your plight. Good luck getting proper compensation.

Also worth having a look at some of the stores that specialise in old/oop games & minis like

http://www.nobleknight.com/

they might be able to give a sale value for stuff even if they don't have it if you ask which if you're looking for values for an insurance claim where they might not be impressed by numbers you've come up with yourself from ebay,

(although I don't know if they'd do it for free as a lot of valuers charge for that sort of documentation)

You could also take a look at this site that aggregates sales from boardgamegeek.

I find it's very helpful for some games, though older OOP games probably don't get sold much, so I reckon it depends on what you're looking for. Good luck!

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Just to make it clear if I remember correctly you need an eBay account to access 'Completed Listings'.
If you don't have one and don't want to sign up then just post a list of the items and it'd take a few minutes to look up.
You never know but you may even find your items listed for sale!

Thanks, Alex. I do indeed have an eBay account, and have been scouring listings for my stuff. So far, no luck. I wonder if the thief even knows where or how to sell the gaming stuff. A non-gamer might just throw gaming stuff out (I had lots of non-gaming things stolen as well). All in all, I don't have much hope that I will recover anything or that anyone will be held accountable, but it doesn't hurt to try. If it wasn't so much stuff, and some of it personal sentimental items, I wouldn't spend the time and energy on it.

At the end of the day, I still have loads of gaming stuff that needs my attention, lol.

Spoken like a true gamer.
