Hey all, it looks like the week 3 battleplan will require a monster. As as Stormcast player, that means only 1 thing.

Stardrake time.

That being said, they cost a ton of points, so trying to get a 1k point army on the table without being completely overwhelmed, I'm having some trouble. I'd love for some opinions on what you would switch out, if anything.

600 Lord Celestant on Stardrake (hammer)
100 Lord Castellant
200 2 units of Liberators
100 Lord Celestant on Foot

OR

500 Drakesworn Templar (stormlance)
100 Lord Castellant
160 Balthasar Gelt
200 2 units of Liberators
40 Gryph Hound

In each case, the main goal is to use the Castellant's light on the Stardrake to keep him alive, while the liberators use Lay Low the Tyrants on whatever monster comes at your and act as battleline. In the first set, the lord celestant tries to buff everyone's hit rolls. In the second set, Balthasar Gelt casts mystic shield to also help the Stardrake and searing doom on the opponent's monster who probably has a low save which means lots of mortal wounds.

What do you think?

lol, both of those are rough, monsters and Stormcast leave something to be desired at 1k. Might as well go HAM, put all of those eggs in that basket and go with list 1. Here is hoping hope they don't have any dedicated monster slayers.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

You will need something to kill their monster as well and you have no speed.

Taake Knight Venator and all judicators with Templar. Keep shooting and get lucky with Venator one shot to cripple opposing monster and keep shooting...

No madam, 40,000 is the year that this game is set in. Not how much it costs. Though you may have a point. - GW Fulchester
