Assault (5) - vet sgt. w/power fist, eviscerator, jump packs

The trick here is the Beacon Angelis... its rules do NOT specify that it has to be on the table at the start of the turn for it to be in effect (explicitly worded un-like the teleport homer, locator beacon, etc.) so the Watch Master pods down with the Furor Killteam turn 1, then the skyhammer falls in around it w/o scatter. He can also then teleport the other Killteam up to his location, again without scatter (or they can ride in the blackstar).

This is pretty much a turn 1 alpha strike list, but if I'd have to bring the skyhammer in turn 2, I'd just hide on foot/pod in the Furor Killteam safely somewhere and use the Beacon to teleport them into the fray later; everything can deepstrike in this formation too, so I can still try the "trick", albeit under different circumstances turn 2... but obviously the list suffers from anything most alpha strike armies do.

I don't believe the Beacon can be used the same turn the Watchmaster would be deep striking, as that's what it looks like you're writing.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

Right, that IS what I'm saying. The rules for that relic are explicitly worded such that it does NOT include the same wording of the locator beacon or teleport homer, which states that it must be on the battlefield at the start of the turn -- that's the cool part about it!

Right, but you drop pod in at the start of the turn. You have to use the relic at the start of the turn.

I don't believe you can stack the "order of operations" for the result you're trying to achieve.

Edit:

Disregard. I interpreted "Drop Pod Assault" as happening during the movement phase, not the game turn. You appear fine.
