Hi!

I've been regularly testing a 2000 pt list with Archaon (the smaller one) for an upcoming tournament (3 scenarios: Take and Hold, Escalation, Border War) , trying to take advantage of some of the synergies it provides. My main opponents have been the Crazy Skaven Skyre battallion and friends and the Nagash+Necrosphynx and friends lists.

The main bulk of my army has been:

Archaon (general)
Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut
Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut
Bloodsecrator
(sometimes also a Mighty Lord of Khorne/Bloodpriest/Valkia)

10 Blood Warriors with dual axe
10 Blood Warriors with dual axe
10 Blood Warriors with dual axe

(these guys are amazing, but I'm wondering if 3 units isn't a bit overkill)

20 Marauders of Khorne with shield
20 Marauders of Khorne with shield

(I prefer these guys to the bloodreavers...close to the same effect, better to-hit possibilities and 5+ save)

After this I got about 400-450 pts to spend, but I'm having trouble stabilizing what I want, because I lack experience with this list against other opponents such as Stormcast Eternals, Empire, Sylvaneth, other Chaos or Ironjaws+Ogors.

I've tried Stormfiends with several types of options because I sometimes feel I lack some shooting (to trim 20-man skeleton units before combat or because some things aren't easily solved through combat), but they cost a lot of points and aren't that fast or numerous enough to take and hold objectives on their own. I've also tried plagueclaw catapults, but they only really shine against hordes and also cost a lot. A wrath of khorne bloodthirster, but he just hit a wall against Nagash (ok, probably not the nicest target) and I got a bit dissapointed by how quickly those wounds go out (imagine with shooting). I've also tried skullreapers but they seem too slow.

I think I have some good synergies with the 2 jugger lords and Archaon (letting him wound on 4 for the slayer of kings effect if he charges puts a scare in Nagash's face) but I lack the punch to deal with big things that are quicker than him or charge him, and I also feel I lack the ability to punch through armor and quickly relocate units (they're all pretty slow).

What can you advise?

Thanks!

Come on...a little help?

Humming Great Unclean One of Nurgle

Just bring Skarbrand, he goes with the Khorne support well and is overpowered enough to fit right in at a tournament.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Thanks!

I love the model and also the rules. And he should fit the points. I'm just wondering how he can withstand shooting without taking a lot of wounds and even how he'd face Nagash or the Necrosphynx...both can kick his arse if they charge him and before he gets the chance to swing!
