Sorry for making a separate thread if this is something that bothers the mods. So in the event in which I'd be challenged to an 1850 or participate in an ITC game, I wanted to have a more competitive list ready, but still have some narrative backbone with my Ultramarines. So here's a couple that I prepared for such a throw down. Tell me which one you would have more confidence in dealing with the worst of the worst, what would you tweak, and which one you would hate to deal with more.

List 1: Tiggy + Deathwatch Knight Atrapos

COMBINED ARMS DETACHMENT
HQ
- Tigurius
- Librarian (Force Axe, Auspex, Power Armor, Level 2 Upgrade)

Troops
- Tactical Squad (10 man, Grav Cannon, Flamer, Rhino)
- Tactical Squad (10 man, Grav Cannon, Flamer, Rhino)
- Tactical Squad (5 man, Grav Cannon, Rhino)

Fast Attack
- Land Speeder (Typhoon Missile Launcher, Multi-Melta)
- Land Speeder (Typhoon Missile Launcher, Multi-Melta)

Lord of War
- Cerastus Knight-Atrapos (Occular Augmetics)

ARMOURED TASK FORCE FORMATION
- Chapter Tactics (Iron Hands)
- Techmarine (Auspex)
- Predator (Autocannon, Lascannon Sponsons)

Basic plan for this is to turn the knight into a single model death star and have Tigurius roll on Librarius, Technomancy, or Telepathy to buff the knight while, hopefully, keeping up with it in a rhino. Meanwhile, I should have enough units on the table to spread out and hold the table firmly.

List 2: MSU Armoured Superiority

- Command Squad (Bikes, Apothecary, 4x Grav-guns and Storm Shields)

- Tactical Squad (5 man, Grav Cannon, Rhino)
- Land Speeder Squad (2x, Multi-Melta, Typhoon Missile Launcher)

- Predator (Autocannon, Lascannon Sponsons)

This list fits my style more since it lets me spread out with more units on the table and I love tanks. The battle company having obsec is huge and is going to make it extra difficult for my opponent to take objectives away from me unless they're also running space marines. Also I can push forward with a lot more units including 3 rhinos, 2 land speeders, the bikes, and the two vindicators while my predators and devastators hold the objectives at home.

Regarding the second list, I do have some alternative ideas.

1) Keep the list as is with a 5 man devastator squad and 2 vindicators

or

2) Lose the two vindicators, but add a third predator, beef the third tactical squad to 10 man, and give 2 grav cannons and a rhino to the devastators and put Sicarius and the Techmarine in that one.

Option 1 sounds like it'd give me a more well rounded army since I can fight mobs a tad easier and punch invisible deathstars since they nerf invisibility to allow template/blast weapons to hit. Option 2 would help dealing with a meta of MEQs and elite units.
