back with a new list, a few tournament lessons learned plus some ideas i'd been kicking around. took a few lists i'd been working on and combined the best parts together.

LEADERS
Assassin
Sorceress

LEADERS/BEHEMOTHS
Frostheart Phoenix With Annointed
Frostheart Phoenix With Annointed

BEHEMOTHS
Celestial Hurricanum
Celestial Hurricanum

BATTLELINE
20 Glade Guard
20 Glade Guard
5 Judicators with crossbows

The hurricanums are putting out insane mortal wounds each as well as giving my whole army a +1 to hit bubble when placed half decently. They're also buffing their casting for the comet spell.
Keeping them within 12" of the phoenixs as well as the sorceress means that on most turns with successful casting I'll be getting those birds up to a 2+ save with an additional 4++ against mortal or regular wounds. i had this used against me and it was devastating.

KEY ABILITIES
-glade guard put out 21 shots hitting on a 2+ with -3 rend once per game. two units with this potential is terrifying. i've been on the giving and receiving end and it's so much fun. plus 40 bodies let's me counter deploy against an alpha strike list if i need to bubble wrap
- sorceress helps buff the birds by casting near them and also gives -1 to hit against a unit
- birds give -1 to wound in a bubble... combined with the hit penalty and this could absolutely neuter a lot of units
- judicators are going to probably hide somewhere behind the glade guard.. backing them up if there is an objective
- general will be on a phoenix... he will give them reroll wounds as a command trait unless the glade guard need inspiring presence to hold later in game. 2 phoenixs hitting on 2s from the hurricanum and rerolling wounds with the rend and 2 damage and 8 attacks is going to be brutal.

all in all i really like this list.. its fast, flexible, hits hard, resilient, looks awesome. definitely my favourite list thusfar.
thoughts? critiques? what would be really strong against it?

i love this game so much!!

Pretty good looking, though the thing that first comes to mind is that a high-wound-count horde of melee guys could swamp it very easily. I think it would do well against monster-heavy enemies or particularly elite armies, but the average wave of Ironjawz or Bonesplittaz would probably cause it a lot of trouble. As for improving, I'd at least put bows instead of crossbows on the judicators since they tend to be better, and I'm not sure if the assassin is really needed. Maybe drop both for some liberators?

the assassin is only there because I think it's so cool aha. but I can see a lot of uses.

why do you think I'd have horde trouble? I could easily see putting 20-30 wounds on a horde. most hordes have gakky armour so the glade guard and judicators can help a lot there too.

but each phoenix can put out 15-20 wounds with all the reroll. and the hurricanum can easily do a other 10 mortal wounds. I've never even seen a horde at any tournaments I've been too. I'm pretty confident I could smash through one

Ironjawz with their 4+ saves across the board are going to be hard to shoot to death outside of mortal wounds, and will probably be charging you on their first turn. Bonesplittaz may only have a 6+ save but simply have more wounds than you can deal; they regularly show up with 200+ wounds in an army and will probably shoot almost as well as you on top of it (the common combo is a 40-man unit of archers in a kunnin' rukk battalion that will put out an average of 40 wounds from shooting in a single turn, without factoring in buffs).

I think it's a good list. I don't know if this is a simple oversight but you'll want to have the wizards on the hurricanums. There's no reason not to.

I think the most important thing to add would be a Gryph hound or two. Is there anywhere you can fit them in?

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

He refers to them casting comet so I'd assume they have wizards on them

this is why I love you guys.
forgot about a gryph hound... I've got 40 points to ay with a drummer that's what one costs. I can squeeze one in which won't be a perfect solution but it'll help for sure.
