I recently picked up the start collecting box and some Ripperdactyls for the Seraphon and I'm hoping to build them up over the next couple of weeks. I was wondering which weapons choices are best?

Thematically I like either the swords or spears for the Warriors and prefer the swords for the Knights, but I was wondering if there was any advantage to using the spears/lances over the swords? What have people seen most success with?

Cheers in Advance!

I prefer the Ripperdactyl's even with the nerf they got. I dont run warrior so im not sure about that one. The Knight's i would run swords, but thats just me, I don't roll many sixes .

Thanks for the reply! Was beginning to think I'd made a faux pas by asking! Just really wanting to make sure I don't build anything that's very uneffective, or if one weapon choice is more defensive/aggressive so I can make something that'll suit my play style!

Was planning on building the Ripperdactyls, I like the models! Think I'll take the swords on knights too then, my dice hate me

Still trying to decide on the Warriors, I'll maybe use the swords as they seem more assaulty, which I think I'll like.

For the warriors, it depends on what size of units you are looking at building. For small, 10-model units, the clubs are better since they wound on 3+ rather than 4+. For larger units, 30 or 40 man strong, spears are by far the best choice, since the 2" range let's you attack in several ranks. For 20-man units you could probably go either way.

With the Knights, I would go for the swords - even on the charge the swords on average do more damage than the spears. However, if you have a good source of +1 to wound in your army, such as a spell or command ability, the lances suddenly become much more attractive. I'm not sure if there is anything like that in the Seraphon army though.

Thank you, probably swords all round then!
