This is pretty freakin' awesome, if you ask me.

First off, new rules for Sisters! That's fantastic!
Second off, it fixes a big problem that all the imperial armies have. Namely, it's *Consolidating* rules, rather than spreading them out - If I want to bring my Sisters, Inquisition, Assassins, and a few of the Legion of the Damned, I no longer need to bring four books - It's all right there!
Third, this is a personal one, but I've been thinking about picking up Grey Knights for a while (Mostly for access to some good Terminator librarians,) but couldn't justify buying an entire new codex for a few models - Now I don't have to!

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I don't think the sisters themselves will get new rules, it will be like Traitor Legions where each of the branches of the Inquisition will get some new detachments and formations (maybe even artifacts if you are lucky) but the base models will all keep the same rules.

I don't know SoB well enough to say whether that is what they need but that is probably what they will get.

I'm just gonna make my prediction down here: they aren't going to make any major changes to Sisters. At most, Sisters can deploy less and still have a full detachment, as per the nature of the codex for all of the elements in it.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I'm not expecting much in the way of new 'Rules', exactly, just new ways to use them. I actually love the current Inquisition rules, and while the current Sisters rules are a little lackluster, I don't think they need an overhaul, just access to some kind of formations or a decurion to give them the abilities that they desperately need. (Heck, just giving everyone a second Act of Faith and giving the Canoness a bit more gear options would fix a whole lot of problems.)

I wouldn't say Sisters need an overhaul (barring Acts of Faith, which could use a minor overhaul). I think they need new additions. And this book is not about new additions, it's about including old things in to your other armies.

Basically, in to give the mentality of this book from the info we have thus far:

So you want to include a Deathwatch squad in your guard army? Go for it! This codex makes it easier.

Want to have some Sisters of Battle fighting alongside your Salamanders? Good for you, this codex makes it easier.

Do you desire some Grey Knight additions to your Skitarii? This is the book you want.

And so on and so forth.

In that regard, I actually think this is a good addition to 40k.

Yeah Im incredibly excited.

Just for the fact that I will have easy access to all the assassin, inquisition, LotD rules for use with my SW, and I won't have to buy four different codexes to use them!

Or, do you want some Skitarii in addition to your Grey Knights? This book apparently has some Mechanicus rules in it.

Yeah this, it will encourage me to try many different fun facets of the imperium's forces, purely because it is all in one book.

Yeah, it does. Also has Legion of the Damned, too, plus inquistion, wyrdvane psykers, and more.

Any word if it's going to include the Sisters of Silence and Custodes dataslates? That would be really convenient.

No word on them yet. Don't get your expectations up regarding the SoS and Custards. If they're in, GW is keeping a tight lid on it.

So my million dollar question is, will this "replace" the pdf rules for Sisters?

There is a fine line between genius and insanity and I colored it in with crayon.

There is no indication that it will.

So assuming that it is just a copy and paste job from the e-codex, but probably with fewer units, I should still be fine to run a full SoB army with just the e-codex then?

"Much of this content is only available digitally at the moment, some of it is new, and much of it is updated."

So there likely wont be any new rules for Sisters. They really put the emphasis on the compendium side of this book. My guess is that it will most likely be the digital codex finally printed on paper, and including the recent draft-FaQ updates.
The most likely addition would be some kind of special detachment.

And the pessimist side of me is already imagining something crappy like:
Demi-church detachment: need 1 HQ/EL/TR/FA/HS and you can reroll your attempted act of faith.... (Note of the editors: did you really expect something as good as other codex ?)

Eh, even if it just adds some formation or even the ability to squadron Exorcists or something. either way, I've already pre-ordered it and the Canoness model.
