Be better if the people who vote also provide a comment -- it is a discussion board after all.

Ideally those who vote would be those who've read/bought the magazine, but we can't really enforce that so keep your internet poll broomstick of skepticalness ... ? ? ..... or whatever to hand when reviewing the results.

be extra handy if you could say which bits you really did/didn't like, what you'd like tweaked or added and so forth.

Mine already arrived and it's a very good read. I particularly enjoyed the interview with David Soper. And for Bottle: there is a quite extensive Blanchitsu in this one...

Didn't read through the complete magazin in detail it, but looks much better than the last issue (which was the "lowpoint" of the current edition). I'll rate after I got though it in more detail.

Sounds great! Is it going into more depth with the Pilgrymme game they featured last issue?

Speaking of the Pilgrym game... if anyone goes down to Warhammer World, you should definitely check that diorama out. Stunning paint jobs on that lot.

On six pages it features three warbands for Pilgrymme from Jakob Rune Nielsen, Tim Molloy and Stefan Darlan Boris... It does not provide particular insight about Pilgrymme itself but (IMHO) quite good background information about style and conversions for the warbands.

Same. And it's perpetually surprising to me that I'm actually looking forward to the arrival of a WD magazine to which I have a subscription, it's been over a decade since that last happened.

Some (optional) rules for the BB referees and a scenario for/from Fall of Cadia

No details about GoC as far as I could find so far.

Cool. I'll wait and see on the BB referee thing, then. They've been posting stuff like that a few weeks after it shows up in WD and I'm not sure I wanna sink $9 for just that.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Welp, mine arrived this morning - 3/10, easily the most disappointing of the new run so far.

Far too much AoS content. Pics of the Triumverate were welcome, but pretty poorly composed if you wanted useful info from them like relative scale. The terrain article though, that's what sunk it - utterly pitiful stuff. The first proper terrain articles in years and what do we get? "Buy our kits. Use elastic bands when you're gluing big stuff from the kits you've bought from us together and don't forget to fill gaps(in the kits which you've bought, from us)."

Boak.

It only gets the 3 because of the Blanchitsu and the showcase of Blood Bowl teams, that was pretty cool.

Added a bit to your quote.

Those pics certainly put me off ever buying any more of their terrain kits. I had that AoS Ophidian Archway and that needed a load of Airfix filler to fill in horrendous gaps. Certainly not what I'd be calling the best models in the world. Is all this terrain made at GW or elsewhere?

I'm going to rate it with a 5/10 this month. I like seeing the readers models and Golden Demon stuff - even if most of it is stuff I could find online to look at.

My Painting Blog: http://gimgamgoo.com/
Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

All the AoS terrain kits and a few new 40k kits (not the containers I don't think?) are made in China instead of Notthingham, from a different plastic that is prone to warping.

This wasn't my favorite issue either. Too much Blood Bowl and not enough AoS, even with the Tzeentch release :( Genestealer cults had far more content in their issue. I'm hoping for a lot more AoS articles and a Tzeentch battle report in the february issue.

Overall I liked this issue. It's not one I would read and re-read again, but it wasn't bad. I did like the "teaching the digital editor to play AOS" article mainly because it showed how to combined some matched play stuff (they used the Take and Hold pitched battle scenario) with picking armies, not that anyone would do that because "muh points". The tzeentch stuff didn't appeal to me (I'm a nurgle man myself) but I liked the bit of fluff.

They need to keep these two guys, Erik and Dan, away from battle reports though. This is the second battle report for 40k these two guys have done where it's "We didn't use points just picked what we liked and calculated points later" resulting in 5300 points of Imperium versus 5200 points of Chaos, which I guess makes for a good model showcase, but shows nothing as far as actually playing the game, which is something I strongly lament from the old White Dwarf days when you could actually glean tactics and list construction (albeit not uber-competitive) from the battle reports. This was more or less a joke of "Let's just show all these pretty models" and I found it quite lame. These two did the same thing in the Genestealer vs. Deathwatch report in October, where they "just chose models" and miraculously ended up with about 2500 points each (and some illegal lists but ignored that).

The Tau vs. Mechanicus display article was pretty cool too just from the visuals of having highly advanced tech versus archaic tech.

Tale of 4 Warlords continues to be interesting, but nowhere near the original (also I love that Sylvaneth, who are largely considered to be a close to OP army, is undefeated in their 4 Warlords league to nobody's surprise).

Ironically, despite loving his art I'm not a huge fan of Blanchitsu because it's like.. just showing the stuff off and their conversions and such are out of the realm of any of us mere mortals to ever do. Also the fact they clearly are doing some kind of Inquisitor 28mm rules that they have yet to release to the public makes me jelly.

Overall it wasn't a bad issue. A lot of it was IMHO useless (all the "looking at months back" stuff I didn't care about) but it was above average.

Picked up my copy this morning and overall it was okay; not bad, not fantastic.

Pros:

- AoS Sigmar battle report was quite entertaining and it managed to explain some of the rules (more of 40K-er) in a way that made sense.
- Mel is funny.
- Painting guides were interesting considering that I'm thinking of getting back into that side of things.
- Tau Vs AM was interesting

Cons:

- Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many Golden Daemon photos again; sure they're nice to look at, but there are only so many times you can do so before they bleed into one another.
- 40K battle report was a bit light - take some of the photos of Golden Daemon winners out and add some more written content - and if you're gonna play, play with (relatively) competitive lists!
- Give us more on Cadia dammit!

Finally found it in store today,

sadly it's the weakest yet (even allowing for the fact it's got less of interest to me than some of the previous ones)

the Tzeench stuff was good though

6/10
