I was lucky enough to have one of my good friends give me the Megaboss on Maw Krusha as a Christmas present. Given that we play according the the General's Handbook's points, I'll be building it as a generic Megaboss on Maw Krusha since Gordrakk is a little too pricy for our current points range for games for my gaming group.

As a result, now I'm not 100% sure what to run him with. Do I go for the rip-tooth fist and the choppa, or a scrap tooth and a boss gore-hacka? I'm edging towards the scrap tooth since I prefer quantity over quality since most of the quality will be coming from the maw krusha itself.

Also, what artefacts and command traits would be ideal for him? Currently I'm considering giving him the artefact that gives him a 4+ save against mortal wounds for protection or the battle brew (does it also affect his mount? I can't recall) to increase damage output. As far as command traits go, Ravager is hard to beat, though I'm also thinking of trying out the command trait that gives +1 to hit for one of the friendly units he's nearby.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Bellowing Tyrant tends to be better for an on foot megaboss since he usually rides near Brutes.

You'll want Ravager, the Mawkrusha wants to charge units for those tasty high Mortal Wounds and setting yourself up with Rampaging Destroyer does that very well.

Battle Brew affects the MODEL, so it affects himself and his mount

Thanks for the advice! Particularly, with regards to how Battle Brew works in accordance with the mount as well (I guess it dribbles down into their gullet). That makes it almost auto-take compared to the 4+ save against mortal wounds, because that just makes the maw krusha damage output simply crazy and keeps them in tip-top shape even when their wound count goes down.

Any suggestions with regards to the Megaboss' loadout?

Both seem decent, but you may want the higher rending with the second pair.

I too am a fan of the riptooth + choppa. It's good damage and battle brew helps keep him hitting hard all the time.

Honestly when you have a Maw Crusha boss with battle brew it doesn't matter a whole lot which weapon option you take! And yeah, battle brew is an auto-take for any fighty heroes because of how good it is right now. RAI seems to be one use per game but RAW is every turn.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Yeah, given that they've FAQ'ed the resurrecting ring artefact from Grand Alliance Death to use reinforcement points (an unnecessary nerf IMO), I'm surprised they haven't done the same to Battle Brew yet. Might as well milk it for while it lasts I guess.

Yeah battlebrew seemed like you could only drink once per turn and if you did 2 turns then you took wounds, but as it is, battle brew might as well be a flat +1/+1 for the game and on a given turn its +2/+2 but you take mortal wounds.
