Hey guys,

Just been playing around with my Astra Militarum lists, and was taking a look at Psykanna Division again. I've heard about viability of summoning using this formation (or more likely multiples), but always just scoffed at the idea of summing daemons with my Death Korps Zealots ... right? Wrong!

I think it may just fit with their attitude of winning at all costs... when there's no more bodies to expend, and as desperate measures, how far are the Death Korps willing to go? As far as it takes!

Imagine commissars forcing units of, previously shunned, and sentenced to execution, psykers into battle. Victory for the emperor no matter the cost, no matter the sacrifice (their own souls certainly). I may be getting ahead of myself, but here I am thinking how I could be playing "The 152nd Korps: The Damned". Once employing this tactic successfully, the regiment has been entirely detached, and nearly executed... but perhaps some commander, sitting in his battle barge, sees the use in such a regiment, and feeds them with the psyker slaves they need to produce the victories the imperium needs. Of course this is all entirely hush hush, and the minute the inquisition hears about it...

In game terms.. summoning demons proxied with these models: Death Korps Zombies. Pink Horror summoning would be too silly (although I hear thats the most competitive), but perhaps count as Plague Bearers. Although I've never actually played the assault brigade rules (I've been using AM codex, with DKoK models), it may actually make it a bit more viable... Forlorn Hope (Return dead platoons to the board) + summoning, for a flood of bodies. Sounds fun, and evil. Thudd guns shelling into no mans land, while zombies walk slowly towards the enemies lines.

What do you guys think? Has this been done before? I'm about a click away from ordering 20 of these zombies - do i need to be stopped... or make me start this P&M Blog?!

Sounds very heretical, but good so you should do it.

In some ways it may just be so damned fluffy for the one Faction whose always stuck in the mud, and trenches; suffering from trench foot; breathing toxic fumes; and living on a death world of decay, and fallout, to be in touch with their inner-master-of-the-unclean.

If they were to turn to chaos... I reckon thats where they'd go. On the other hand, I really don't want to turn into traitor guard here!

Thinking I could paint up some Korpsmen with Black Helmets to make them a bit more menacing then my more "neat" ones. Thanks for the support guys. Probably an army list to come soon!

Yep. Sounds great

Borders on the heretical, but fits perfectly with the Krieg attitude, and so long as they're still marching inexorably forward the upper echelons may just turn a blind eye...

Just finished Dead Men Walking, where the DKOK were instructed to "throw away your weapon when the Necrons shoot at you, so the weapon can be salvaged (once your dead)".

I would not put it past them to use ANY tactic possible for the Emporer.

I can imagine that first meeting going something like

Guy 1: "We are loosing the war, we need more bodies"

Guy 2: "We have these civilian psykers here, can we start summoning some deamons to win this battle"

Guy 3:"We cant use Chaos, thats HERESY"

*Blam*

Guy 1: "For the Emperor"
