Hi! I'm a new player, but have been doing A LOT of research. I'll probably just be battling for fun, but would like a competative list. Would love a full fluff footslogging WE army, but I like winning

My vision for this army is to have 4 absolute badasses kicking butt all over the board - Chaos Lord on Jugga, Kharn and 2 x DP (Murder Sword will focus on assassinating and then infanty units and the other will be a tank killer). Choas Lord will sit with the bikes and hope for a 1st turn charge, DPs will also be going for 1st turn charges (as I'm writing this I'm thinking about whether I scrap the Hellturkeys and beef up the Warband and get some spawns to meal sheild...) and Kharn will be with the larger group of CSMs going for a 1st but more likely 2nd turn charge.

Welcome any input/thoughts you guys have.

First, please clean up your list so it's not a cluttered mess. You don't need to list default warbear like twin linked bolters on bikes or bolt pistols and CCW's unless there's a change made from the normal unit.

Second, your lord has 2 relics, the AoBF and the talisman - He can only have 1 relic. He's also off by 10 points if you've got the gift on him.

Third, there is really no excuse not to have 1 of your princes with the Glaive, I'd definately trade the Murder Sword infor the Glaive as a +2 str and instant death bonus really doesn't compare with the extra attack, FNP and IWND from the glaive that's also making you str 8 all the time.

Forth, consider trading in the Chosen for terminators with combis. The bump to your armour and a frree invo is definately worth the small bump in points. 4 termies with MoK, 4x power weapons (axes of course) and 4x combi meltas is only 160 points.

Fifth, Why missile launchers instead of autocannons on the Havoks? You want to pop transports to get at the squishy insides and autocannons are the best thing around for that while missile launchers have all the drawbacks of a single shot weapon without the chance to explode anything but open topped things.

Sixth, if your dudes are going to be CC hoardes, trade in the bolter for bolt pistol and CCW for free since you might as well run instead of shooting a handful of bolter shots and the extra CC attack is probably going to be used more often.

Lastly, I'm not sure how effective the 'Drakes are going to be. Not only do you want to have maximum number of targets ont he board to overload your enemies guns via target saturation, they're also not going to be super useful if you're locked in combat with everything since then they can't fire. It might work, but it's definately something to test out before you commit to it.

The Heldrakes don't have any synergy with your Army - they're awesome, just not in a Butcher Horde. Aside of that i agree with Drasius.

Also, without any transport (i.e. Land Raider / Spartan / Dreadclaw) for Khârn he's basically an overpriced paper weight.

Chosen always need something to deliver them, same is true for Khârn - so make them the retinue for Khârn or give them 4 Flamer & 1 Combi flamer on the Champ and go horde-hunting. Or drop them for a Termicide - i.e 3 Termis with Axes & Meltas.

My experience with Chosen in a Butcherhorde is, that they excel with a Dirt-cheap Talisman-carrying Lord & Khârn, equipped with 1 claw to keep them below Terminator cost, put them in a Dreadclaw & go ham in T2 rather than 1.

Also, with a butcherhorde you want early board control which you may achieve with mass MSU's of Bikes & normal CSM with extra Flamer / Melta & Spawn's. 160 points equal 5 spawn with MoK (i.e. 15 T5 wounds), they get the 2d6 Movement & make an excellent distraction and can possibly charge Turn 1, or soak mass amounts of Firepower.

Thank for the feedback guys. Have made some changes based on it, let me know what you think. Kept the Chosen and I've built some coverted ones that look amazing. Keeping Gorefather as it's fluffy and having both of Angron's axes on the board is cool. I didn't like the lack of fluff before, so we have some Zerkers for Kharn now.
