Huzzah for Lug (and presumably Brun) turning up!

I do like the Basher sculpt very much, and its rules make it very efficient. I might use it
to replace the Driller on Gorten, though I might not even buy it until long after the
Mercenary book is out and we see (or not) what Gorten's theme list consists of.

Yeah, Lug is awesome. Brun is somewhere in that picture I thinks. Here's another
picture of the cuddly bear pre-assembly.

It still amazes me the amount of stuff you get finished.

Nice to see some mercs in there. I'm considering some myself, though I really don't know anything about the game and how to get an army together yet. Kinda waiting for the new books on that end though.

Looking forward to seeing the hammer wielding guys finished ^_^.

Yeah, I should have pics in the next week. They're done, but I mostly post only on
days that I paint to make sure I'm able to maintain this blog

Dude, they're exactly the same. It's one reason I don't get more of it done in one
setting. It's all earthtones and military issued colors. Blech. The only thing appealing
about it to me is the scale.

More of the Searforge. You can see the rest of the pics in the article about the Searforge:

(Did you know that a google search for searforge army brings my article near the
top of the list? Legoburner's got Dakka humming like a cabana boy... hrm...nevermind)

I hear ya. I finished all of two models in november.

I quite like what you have done with the Soviets, Felix. Your paint style is rather well suited at that scale. With how quickly you can paint, I am thinking that a very infantry-centric Soviet force is within your grasp.

Which is saying something because many people here have tried doing just that

They tried and failed?

They tried and died.

Only one person here has pulled it off (John Reddman, owner of Tower Games), and he most certainly is the Kwisatz Haderach of FOW Soviets. Perchance you could be Leto II, god emperor of FOW.

The Kriel Warriors were technically "free", as in Privateer Press has a compensation program
for its Press Gang volunteers. Though I suppose for the price of those Warriors I could have
requested a crap-ton of MK2 books and accessories (okay, small exaggeration. I could get
the hardcover, softcover and the faction decks for the price of those models).

The Soviets I'm painting are a bit more elite than that, though I might re-visit them now that
I have enough models for a nearly completed army. Maybe start painting up the prison conscripts
in 2010 as part of my FOW expansion. Currently, however, my force is for Udarny Strelkovy.

Thanks for the comment, though. I look at my Flames of War stuff and don't see anything
special. I have my tanks now, and the part about them that bothers me will be trying to
apply the decals. I always mess that part up.

I'm also not much of a treadhead (Blasphemy!).

LunaHound wrote:Malfred , you paint like 1 complete army every few weeks , can we see how many painted thing you have piled up total?

http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Malfred%27s_520_Models_in_a_Year_Attempt

I am NOT going to take those last pictures ever again. The miniatures now safely rest in
foam trays stacked in the basement. Three Warmachine / Hordes armies permanently
reside in four Sabol bags. It took me hours to set up those group shots and hours to take
it down again and place the minis back into the trays.

*Thinks about the accusation*

I think you're wrong. If I had to, I could possibly paint an entire army every few weeks
only once in a while. After that, the psychological grind of painting and modeling the
same models would wear on me and I'd go play with my Playstation in disgust.

Besides, I string out my image postings so that I can do regular updates. You know,
I take three to four pictures and spread them out across three or four days.

You know, make it *seem* larger than it actually is.

*Waits for the punchline*

Anyway, Attached are Madrak and the Whelps for his Warbeasts.

The searforge stuff looks good, kinda reminds me of the fruits of labor of some socialist laborers. Olive green and red just makes that image to me.

The flame effect on Steinhammer looks excellent.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but I also didn't want to risk a
indistinguishable piece by using a red/yellow fire.

These are the Ogruns for my force. I have a third Bokur done from a long time ago, but
