I'm sure when the day comes to burn down this place for insurance...um. Oh wait, the minis
would have to go with it. Guess people would have to "borrow" them from me or I'd have to stage
a fight with my wife and rent a storage space for them.

There simply isn't any room. And display cases are expensive.

Will you be expanding those to two full squads, malfred, or keeping them at minimum size?

Some day they'll expand out. I want to see what kind of theme armies mercs get
before I commit to anything like that.

This here's the pics of the High Shields.

So finally I catch up to my current projects. These pictures are images of my work on
a smattering of miniatures. The progress is very slow, as it's almost the end of the year
and I think I took on too many minis at once. I'm making headway, though.

Here the pictures show the assembly of some of the minis. I actually pin some of them
for once.

20 Days ago, I took a bunch of models out to prime. Seems it was a good idea now that
I see the ice and snow and how difficult it would be to get time to prime.

What are the plastic minis in the first pic. They look really cool, I think I want some, lol!

Those are the Legion of Everblight Warspears from Hordes. The plastic isn't styrene, and
the pieces are pegged. Their base size is 40mm.

Here they are started out.

Ah, Hordes. I was recently looking through their site. Awesome mini's. Do you play the game then, what's it like? I know it involves cards and stuff.

Keep up the good work

The game...not sure how to call it.

It's a tabletop miniatures game that is very WWF. You have these powerful personalities
leading troops and warbeasts on the battlefield, and only one of these characters is going
to leave the ring alive. Killing the commander wins the game, period. Even in scenarios,
gameplay is usually all about defending the primary condition but going for the assassination.

A game can get turned on its head because of this.

You could be winning all through the game, but "winning" does not inevitably lead to
victory. Thus you can't commit your most powerful resource, the warlock (or "warcaster" in
warmachine) to battle unless you're certain that things will go your way.

Primed some Skorne stuff some time ago. Currently trying to alternate my painting
between the two jobs. Might fail miserably.

Thanks. Hoping to slow things down in 2010.

The plastics are okay. I mean, they're really well sculpted (loving the Warspears and
the Bastions and the Fennblades so far), but the pegged system means that you
have to really cut stuff if you want them custom, and I really don't care all that much.

In a game where you only ever have one or two units of a thing, it's enough to have
two or three poses for grunts.

Looking good, malfred.

I'm thinking of doing some form of 520 challenge next year - see what multiple of 52 figures I manage to complete over the course of 2010

Hmm - do FoW (or smaller) bases count as 1 figure, or 1 per infantryman?

Well, given I think I've completed roughly 6 figures in 2009 (and two of those were penguins), even managing an average of 1 per week would be a good start

I saw a group blog where some people were trying exactly that. 52 minis in a year, 1 per week.
