Well, I am not really in to the way that GW paints up rail rifles standard, and I don't really want to do the black with drybrush bolt metal, any other suggestions?

The army is primarily red with black cloth (going to be highlighted with grey drybrushing unless someone has a better suggestion on that one) so I was thinking of maybe using black ink on the guns, the rest of the model is getting brown ink.

Please help, I really  do want them to look decent but can't figure out where to go with it.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

Brazen Brass or Tin Biz. Okay it may look rusty but it will fit with red and black.

Since Pathfinders are scouts, a camo scheme would look good. If they already have a black basecoat then leave that in the recesses and maybe go with a medium gray then some dark gray irregular stripes on kind of a diagonal to the line of the barrel.
