I just need ideas for what to convert that has curvy surfaces to match the armor, but they do seem to have angle on the chest pieces.

I actually have looked at using a mouthwash bottle, maybe scale down to a smaller one, but that will take time until it is used up. My current option is quite large, but looks to fit the part with the right add ons.

Yep, it is looking like either convert a scope bottle, a Halo toy, or scratch build one.

Kroger mouthwash bottle shape,,,,needs some work, and cutting, plastic is not polystyrene, so super glue for the working.

Not sure I will use it, but if I do, horizontal, split the front, add other sections to add engines and grav repulsion, weapons etc.,

I also have some Halo inspired designs in my head now.

As an alternate option on using bottles and the like for futuristic craft, look at orientating the bottle with it's wide "axis" vertical rather than horizontal: less car-shaped and more bike-shaped.

Not always the best option, but may make a slightly unusual shape into a crazy-futuristic-what is that? shape.

The one I have is quite big, almost baneblade sized as is, I may got for something totally different with a drawn and cut shape as I have the plastic card stock to go that way as well. Still lot of thoughts flashing about. But thanks, that adds another option to the mix.

Thanks Tom! I have flocked almost all my force, except for a pack of Hungries, they need the paint brush lovin' first, but the Morats are ready for a flat coat just about. I need to order the jeweler glasses so I can fix faces.

I will have pics of the based Morats, I went through all of them and made them a mix of rocky terrain with grass so it should look interesting.

Another option is to work off an existing model as a base. One good choice is the AMT Ertl 1/72 scale Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Danube Class Runabout. I have an old one just for that purpose, and I've seen some good work done with them.

Always less comments to be had at the weekend. It's almost as if some people have other things to do than browse DDakka.

Nice job on the bases. Very effective.

Those mouthwash bottle tops make nice holders for minis while you are painting them. The conical shape makes them less likely to tip. They aren't slippery to hold either.

Grass on Infinity minatures is a bit unusual. Off the top of my head, only the Acontecimento minis have it. However, since the Murder Monkeys are on a jungle planet, it is fitting and proper. Maybe brown instead of gray on the bases-- dirt instead of gravel.

Not where I should be

I like the grass, adds a nice touch. It is unusual on Infinity models as it seems they are always based as clean city dwellers. Always fancied doing them as something akin to I am Legend myself, kind of a shiny clean city, slightly reclaimed by jungle. In that your bases would fit perfectly. Your prolific as always, so many models.

Thanks guys! Yeah, at first I was giving them the "scorched earth to their bases, I have no clean urban bases for them, and the idea of them encroaching an abandoned and over grown city for data retrieval or some such mission is appealing.

And I am also working on adapting them for some unique WH40K play if I get the chance.

Hmmm, save the caps for the mounting of minis for paint work eh? Interesting idea.

The Ba-100 is the armored car that works in the same role as the Sentinel an other walkers. It is light, yet is crewed by 4 men, and the driver and comms officer sit in the front, where the comms man can fire the heavy stubber in the front. The commander/gunner and his loader man the turret, and uses the auto-cannon"45" with the coaxial heavy stubber. It has armor layout comparable to the heavy sentinel, but the speed of a wheeled vehicle. It also carries adapters for the rear tires so it can travel on both snow, sand, and mud as if it were a half-track. Many of the K.U.U.R. outer Republics find this an easier vehicle to maintain than Sentinels and other walkers, as well as use them as rapid response vehicles to act as vanguards until heavier tanks arrive on the scene.

The Caldraani make do by copying items of equipment they scavenge from the derelict freighters they scour of hostile warp entities, or pirates trapped where the ships drift in through a subspace eddy current. Thus far they have adapted their kit with ballistic suits and leg carapace from a lost shipment from Kruegeria, torso body armor from the triple angel system, and they make masks and prosthetic found on several old Adeptus Mechanics wrecks they have scavenged. These last were the toughest to copycat, but they managed as their world is not a safe place to travel over the surface, the toxic dust that kicks up when the wind blows requires that their settlements be underground and have static dust collection entry ways. They have also found the purgative power of flamers and heavy flamers to be efficacious, and trusty weapons when cleansing derelicts and hulks. Las pistols as seen here also make their way to the use of the army as seen by the comms officer above.

The rotary Puncher pistol is also a nice weapon they have adapted to as it sends out bolts that pierce armor with a slightly explosive charge from an isotope added to the shot, this can result in the target suffering from radiation as well as torn limbs and other heinous injuries from the pistol.. The drum rifles are accurate, and have a decent range that can match the Tau though it is still similar in damage to the rusty lasgun. This drum-rifle is the mainstay pf the Caldraani regiments.

Finally, another unique weapon they have made as a knock off of another gun is the "Long shot anti armor rifle" this weapon as can be seen is heavy class, and fires a single round per turn of combat at a decent range, and is a weapon that can do damage glancingly on a Leman Russ front glacis, but works better on lower armor plates of lesser vehicles.

Although, some bits are not as black as the rest...?
Not as easy to get into these nooks and crannies with a brush as it is with as spray, but if you don't do it before painting proper you'll regret it later.

Now I also wanted to give some other idea of how small it is alongside another small vehicle, any one familiar with the Hasslefree "Fire-Wasp" scout car. Now the fire-wasp seats three men, the Ba-10 four, but they also serve different purposes as one is a combat car, the other a scout/report car.

Here is the paired cars for showing their size difference.

I did mean to do it with a brush. While it's all black you can slap it on to get into all the gaps and not worry about messing up a paint job.

Yeah, a second bit of brush with a smaller head will be next for that guy.

Now as for what came in my mail yesterday,,,,Dire-foes pack had this fellow, Poor Angus, always getting messed up and never quite able to grasp things mentally as to why he "screws up" he was two pieces and a base. Head to body then base. Just 2 images, front and back

And their foe, Spec-Ops Treitak known as Anyat, a scary female Morat, rifle in hand, pistol on her hip, and she is not merely brushing her long hair out of the way, she is pulling her short sword of a knife!Had to repossition and cut what you see , some green stuff will also be needed as they did not cut her quite right for the parts to lign up.

Now the guy from the Suryats who has the missile launcher has the basic torso with the front as part of the mold so backpack and helmet get passed along with single piece arms. Fairly good build, like the Suryat with HMG which is slightly smaller than the new set, even though he happens to be the 1st wave of new sculpted Suryats! But here is the easiest of the bunch to make. Seems the Morats use rivets for their shoulder shields!
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]

Here we have the standard trooper using a rifle with a under-slung flame thrower, his left arm is in 2 parts, forearm is part with the rifle, the shoulder section is separate, his right hand is part of the rifle, and he gets a single arm, wrist to shoulder. The new torso is a middle form that you must glue the chest to the center, and then add in the backpack unit of the torso, then you can add the head. Here he is
[/img]

So finally the squad leader of the Suryat squad, he has a rifle w/attached flamer, and a longer blade that counts as a sword due to how long it is. Torso also was in the back-front torso, the arms were one pieces, weapons molded with the arms.

So that is the bear metal minis assembled so far and ready for primer and painting.
