  • My Kings of War army was missing the Undead cavalry (this was a known issue as they ran out due to the popularity)

  • My Kings of war second wave was missing one bag of horses (at least, I didn't really go through anything for the armies I wasn't interested in)

  • My Dreadball wasn't missing anything, but one of the MVP's hands was miscast into a blob

  • My Deadzone first wave wasn't missing anything, but the signed print was folded back under the game box

  • My Deadzone second wave is missing a battlezone and a connector bundle

  • (I didn't back Loka, I only have a mat and single terrain set for Mars Attacks and only a book, cards and the KS exclusive figures from DBX coming. Hopefully those don't go awry!)

I'm not frustrated, because I've never needed the missing stuff that urgently, and Mantic have always managed to sort it out (except in the case of the folded print, I submitted an form but never heard anything back. I guess they'd gone through the print run). I also appreciate how difficult it must be to sort and pack many thousands of backers' shipments given the level of customisation available in the pledge manager. Maybe they should cut back on that flexibility (as much as I like being able to pick & mix single figs).

Mistakes are being made though, and their cycle of often being either preparing for, running, or dealing with the fallout of a KS project means there's often delays in sorting this stuff out (I'm glad I at least live in the same country).

I dunno about the next level, it would be made of resin and more expensive, and people would beg for it in boardgame plastic but Mantic would say no. Feelings would be hurt all around.

Hoping to get my swag, or at least an email saying it's been shipped. While everything was more or less right when it did eventually show up... I really don't want to repeat my 2 month wait from the first wave

Yeah, I'm doing it based on reports starting to come in, such as the ones above as well as my own personal experience. How long would you expect people to "wait and see" for? Until it's all over?

That's two. Out of 4,306 backers, plus how ever many mantic allowed to pledge after it ended. Given a few other have complained on here and on the main forum let's be generous and say 20, which would make 0.46%

Yes that's an assumption, but given many people come onto forums to complain and it's generally the same people here, on the official forums and on the KS comments I think we can be fairly accurate and say that while errors happen, they're very much in the minority.

I tend to stay out of bashing or supporting companies on forums, but Azazel for more than a few pages know you've been going on as if your's is the only opinion which counts. Please get some perspective.

Going to have to side with Azazelx on this one. Other than the initial DreadBall wave, I have yet to receive a wholly correct shipment from Mantic, and the resolution usually takes months (which I'll allow for being across the pond) and, to date, have all had errors of their own. I'm missing few DB prone markers still, and some of my DeadZone plague are missing a sprue of heads. I was missing half a BattleZone (correctly replaced), two Enforcer starters (that they replaced with...four or five specialist packs which is still a mistake but in my favor) and a Plague starter (correctly replaced).

However, given how lackluster the CS experience has been, I don't care enough to jump through the hoops for the minor bits I'm missing. It's not that Mantic doesn't care as my interactions with those folks when I've been able to have them have all been positive. The problem is they don't have enough people, and the people that they do have do not have the proper tools to take care of the issues as near as I can tell. I've harped on this before, and Mantic has seemingly not addressed a major shortcoming in their business.

I'm fairly forgiving, but don't forget that the people who complain are the ones who care. Those who don't, they move on to other companies without Mantic ever finding out why. If this is an area that multiple people have had issues with (and it is) then the answer isn't "wait and see if they fix it" as they have already squandered the benefit of the doubt with many people. At the end of the day, there is only one place the blame for that rests, and it's not with the backers.

I somewhat feel that this is a big part of the issue. They always seem to be running a new campaign while trying to ship (waves of) previous ones, and it can't be helping.

I'd agree that mostly they are, yeah, but then you also get people like the guy on the Mantic subforum right now with an obvious victim complex and the like who just want attention. I'm just saying that claiming your own situation reflects the general situation borders on egotistical. Personal does not equal statistical.

I just think some perspective and common sense should be applied, which I understand is difficult when you have a an immediate audience at the other end of a keyboard. I just don't like putting lots of people on an ignore list because they whine baselessly a lot when they could also be saying something which might be interesting at other times.

I can agree some people just want to be martyrs, and others are just trying to weasel free stuff. However, if you know you have made a mistake and someone is complaining, that's a different kettle of fish.

On the topic of KS shipments in particular, when you have the CEO of the company in question issuing public apologies for how many problems there were with packing and accuracy on Wave 1 then I fail to see how that topic is baseless. This was a confirmed issue according to the company, not the Internet, and the early results have indicated a less-than-perfect record already. It's not "sky is falling, Mantic doesn't know how boxes work" levels, but it is certainly enough to be concerned and move going through the package with a fine-tooth come from "something to do when I have time" to "something that needs to be done quickly so I can make sure I have what I paid for."

Just to chime in from the usually quiet and satisfied customer perspective.

I got the Strikeforce Pledge plus 5 scenery packs, and extra Marauders and Enforcers. I think the total was well over $500 counting the wave 2/3 stuff I'm waiting on now.

The missing items from my first wave were 3 extra rulebooks (they ran out), the extra enforcers (they ran out, but I got the basic box force), some Marauders (they ran out) and the connectors(they ran out).
All the missing items were accounted for on the invoice I received, marked as "to ship 2014".

I had 2 damaged models. Recon was missing the blade on his knife, And one Plague guy was bent badly at the ankle, such that it broke when I (foolishly) bent it back without heating it up.

Considering I received over 100 models and 34 sprues of scenery, and all missing items were results of stock run out, I am a happy customer. Since I ordered Forge Fathers and Peace Keepers, I expect to be waiting until wave 3 for the next box to show up. In the meantime, I have a giant box of stuff I don't have time to build right now anyway.

I had a lot of issues with 2 Dreadball waves, KoW and Deadzone wave 1, by lots I mean double digit issue list for each game system.

On top of that it took me over 7 hours to sort through all the stuff because having been pretty completionist I had a fethton of unlabelled grey plastic that I had to work out WTH it was and how many of what I should have. To add insult to injury, Royal Fail then lost the Dreadball parcel and they had to send a second one (which they did but with normal DB bases instead of my missing giant DB bases).

Just to round things off nicely I made a separate order of 1 sprue and 2 books from them which arrived jammed into a padded envelope. Fortunately the sprue survived the journey, but the corners of the books were all bent up from being jammed in, so I had to get those replaced too.

They have a history of fething up orders, including almost every package they've ever sent me. Ronnie has come out and publicly apologised for their endless errors, and they've said that they'll try and do better in the future. I have no interest in tracking down how many individual people complain, since I'm sure they don't all post on forums the way some of us do. Now, given their history, their admittance of it being a continuing issue, and the fact that reports are coming out with more mistakes, I think my own opinion and perspective is pretty good. I see no actual benefit in people telling me to shut up and "wait and see". If I want to be cynical I'll fething well be cynical. You can be as hopeful and positive as you like, as long as you don't try and tell me that I can't be cynical.

And more than a few pages? Really? You mean the previous two posts where I said such harsh things as this?:

Yeah, perhaps is such a strong and negative word. Such a harsh and negative post.

I've been going on as though mine is the only opinion that counts? For more than a few pages? Really? Press the "filter thread" button on my profile to see just how full of gak that statement of yours is. - note to mods - if someone talks clear bs about what I've said, I'll call it out.

Really though, feel free to chuck me on ignore then since I disagree with you. I don't really care. I put morons on ignore all the time.

I will say that they seem to be better at this. The 'mission control' page, with links to pdfs showing you what goes where helps, and my Deadzone wave 2 stuff is now coming with the little bags organised into larger bags, with labels stuck to them showing what the contents should be. Took me very little time to sort through, this time around.

And I'd like to try and reinforce what I said earlier - I accept that that problems happen, and I'm not put off buying Mantic stuff (I'm only going in small on their KS these days because I'm on a mission to paint all my stuff, and don't want boxes of hundreds of figures turning up anymore).

I'm neither making assumptions or believing what I want. It has happened to me MULTIPLE times now. To me personally, not some guy on the internet. Though there are TONS of examples of that if you simply take the time to browse these forums, not to mention their own. Its one thing to take up for them (I do like Mantic and buy their products) its another thing to bury your head in the sand and ignore a glaring problem. That doesn't help anyone... especially Mantic, who needs to step up their game in those areas.

I'm a big supporter of mantic but must admit they cocked up my deadzone box with broken figures and a couple of missing bags

I'm hopping from what we've heard from people receiving their wave two stuff that its better packed and labelled. The qc on casts could definitely do with improving, however I still back them and go in for each ks. The volume of stuff I get tends to outweigh the problems I experience personally, although I've definitely not had it anyway near as bad as some people on here.

I ended up with an incorrect wave two order, missing one figure (Rebs commander). Additionally the books had bent up corners because the entire slipcase was banged up.

I wanted to back the dungeon crawler KS, but Mantic has never sent me a 100% correct order so I passed.

Further to this, got an email today that my form has been reviewed, an apology that the wave 2 shipping is interfering with their normal operations, and an estimate that my stuff will be sent by Monday 8th.

I'll be impressed with that sort of turnaround during a KS shipping period.

Going slightly off topic, but my experience of Mantic mirrors that of others though from a non KS basis - 3 we birders all with issues, 2 never resolved as any and all emails go unanswered.

Backed the Mars Attacks KS and communication is terrible, they showed parts of it set the Open day back in May that are still text to be shown to backers, sold it at Gencon yet shipping to KS backers late as there is a customs issue..... Which somehow didn't effect the gen con ones? Then many of the con ones were missing helmets and the QC on some sets seems poor. Time will tell but they need to invest in decent packaging process not cud toner service, get it right first time!

Before I email Mantic, I just wanted to post this here for those who have also received their second wave orders. Mine just came in today, and I was happy to see I got everything I was expecting. My only question is this: I know the Enforcers are going to be hard plastic and coming in the final shipment, but I got two Defender Enforcers in restic with this shipment. I had pledged for them as individual add ons but I also know they are part of the Booster pack, which I ordered as well. The packing slip has a check mark next to the Booster pack, so I am slightly confused. Is the Booster pack in its entirety (sergeant, medic, defenders, ect.) being done in hard plastic to be released with the rest of the Enforcer line? If so, then I guess nothing was missing from my shipment. If not, then I should contact Mantic. Any help would be appreciated!

The defender shields were mailed to you along with all the medic parts. The bodies for the defenders are supposed to be plastic. So you have shields without bodies until October. I was questioning the same thing, had it explained on here.

Thanks! I seem to have all the correct parts. I got the parts to make two medics (I think I only actually purchased one, the one that was supposed to come with the Booster pack I ordered, so guess I got an extra). And I got the four shotguns and four shields for the Defenders (the two I bought individually and the two from the Booster pack). Now I just wait for the hard plastics to make the Defenders... *sigh* The waiting is the hardest part.
