Jeremy has done great business wise with his previous company ultraforge, so I trust him here. I too am very disappointed by the drop off of updates and comments, but it's to be expected when he is not trying to bump up the kickstarter total and just needs to focus on the models. Also he mentioned somewhere that they were still fixing possible issues with the pledge manager, so that's why that's not out yet. I think he's also holding back on that more so he can wow people with the final designs and get a bigger bump from the pledge manager while also providing pics of everything so we don't hear "Man I would have ordered that too if I knew it was going to be so good." Or "I wish I'd have seen the final sculpt before finalizing my order so I could have passed on xxxxxx"

Pointing out factual information and saying you're a wee bit disappointed is hardly moaning, nor is it unreasonable. The guy isn't accusing Jeremy of crimes against humanity ffs.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

done great with ultraforge? They made like 4-8 models, had to pull there version of the GUO, sold it off and that company let ultraforge go under (probably intentionally, by a dummy corp. from GW). So hope you enjoy cc and if you hope it is run like ultraforge keep that in mind.

Yeah like I say I've only had experience of a couple of KS and the others I'm in are very satisfying as far as updates and on-time delivery etc are concerned. If this is more par for the course (infrequent and mostly inconsequential contact) then that's fine. I'm not worried, and from what I've seen the product looks great, but it would be nice to see a little more consistency of information by CC.

Arcane Factories has severed all ties with Creature Caster due to creative differences.
What this means - this will not effect our sculpting, prototyping, designing and other freelance contracts. This will also not effect our Kickstarter miniatures as we move forward.
Production will continue as normal.
-Justin

Arrrggggh, why did you choose to work with these guys? What does this mean for your timeline?

Reading up a bit more, I'm glad they cut ties- Arcane Factories is too new/unknown. Looking forward to seeing Jeremy do these all himself, instead.

I'm looking forward to hearing something about this one, or the Pledge Manager, or something. I'm very disappointed with the turn that communication took here.

I think a November fulfilment date is clearly out of the question now.

It is almost like once they have your money they don't want to talk to you anymore.

I just can't figure it out. /sarcasm

Yeah. I guess it's because Jeremy actually seemed pretty genuine and appeared to not be full of the usual bs. Trust no-one, I guess.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just had a trawl through the comments. On August 2nd Jeremy notes that perhaps Wave shipping would be a good idea. Which will naturally either bump the gak out of shipping costs, or result in the usual 6-8-12-month delays in people getting any of their gak.

Same old, same old, I guess...

Just glad I dropped down from my huge initial pledge (due to finances, not due to butthurt - though it seems like it's the best way to go across the board now...

Yeah, honestly about 8-12 months ago I really felt like I had missed out on tons of awesome kickstarters because I am pretty trigger shy when it comes to spending money on product that doesn't exist yet. But now, there aren't any kickstarters out there that I wish I had pledged for. Not a one. I definitely regret several.

I'm sure Jeremy is a fine fellow, but the incentives definitely change once they have your money, and people respond to incentives.

Project Update #39: Back from "JenCon"
Posted by Jeremy Glen ♥ Like
Whew! GenCon is huge, and was a whirlwind. There is no way to take in everything that is going on. There is just too much. The best thing about the convention was making great connections with some amazing people.

Here is the text contents of the vid:

http://youtu.be/yfKgvMTSn74
GenCon was great. Talked with a bunch of Creature Caster backers. Met some amazing people.
Special thanks to Joe and Jen from Screaming Heretic
Pledge Manager beginning testing. We will test it ourselves this week, plus contact about a dozen CC backers to have an early go at the PM, for testing and feedback.
Coffeegate continues. I have to replace the motherboard and graphics card in my computer. All files are being transferred back to my old computer. Sculpting will resume and update pics are inbound.
Updates will be more frequent starting next week, once everything has gotten transferred over and is back in motion.
Thanks to everyone for contributing their thoughts to the comment section. I will do a live hangout perhaps this Sunday, with a Q and A session. I will be on Friday night to let you know the exact time of that hangout.

Thanks GenCon!

Has he mentioned in the comments section or in other places just where he's been, and what he's been up to since the communication kind of stopped?

I loosely follow the KS comments. He spilled coffee on his computer and has been trying to get that up and going. The PM is almost complete and will be going through tests this week. We all kind of dog piled him on the comments page about lack of follow ups, and why I believe he sent out this update. We also mentioned wanting quick write ups and pics instead of constant beetle babbles(which he keeps doing), the update has a link to a write up about the video, so he does listen to the feedback.

That seems like a fair enough call.

New machine, transfer the HDDs/SSDs(or enterprise-class RAID) over, install software, then send the old one to the shop and have a second machine for back-up use/rendering back in 2-3 weeks.

Actually, at this point, you did!

All kidding aside, has there been any news/updates revealed in these Live Chats?

He showed progress on the Tree Woman, and in previous chats he's showed progress on the Plague Angel. He's stated numerous times that he doesn't really enjoy showing off models that aren't finished, as it doesn't show them how they're meant to be. It's totally understandable in my opinion.

I got invited with about 10 folks to test the pledge manager. Having a bit of trouble with it now, actually but it's being tweaked! Overall it should work fine, but it's their own thing rather than using (and paying) a service, I believe.

Didn't see this posted yet, but new KS update with a WIP of the tree woman.

Sculpted all morning. The Treewalker went from being detailed to getting an extreme detail pass. You can see the beginnings of which in the head and shoulder, and soon it will all be detailed in this way.

Areas yet to be detailed are the smooth ones, like the chest and belly. These will have a more thin bark-like texture. The "armored" areas get the thicker branch'ier bits.

Another short while on the Walker, then I can show you the Maggot. I know you have a fave model you want to see, and I will be showing each in the future.

I will be doing a sculpting diary so you can see lots more WIP pics. If you would rather not get these updates in your email, let me know in the comments.

In the last few days my tooth has been giving me a lot of trouble. I will be back in the clinic next week getting work done. It has been pretty miserable but I can still sculpt the day away

... and here is a little vid which talks about the PM.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSASoG80o5Y&feature=youtu.be
If you were part of the campaign, go ahead and fill in your info and start choosing your miniatures. Then lock in and you are all set.
If you did not make it to the campaign in time, good news! Just 'create an account' on the PM and you are ready to make your own pledge.
If you are adding to an existing pledge, or making and entirely new one, the Paypal checkout will be there to make things quick and easy.
If you have any questions, post them here or in the Kickstarter comments section. Other backer will be a huge help, plus I will help out as often as I can.

Placed my order, just an early bird silver, if this was up in the original stated time it would have been more, but other things bought since then meant less going into it.

How long is it staying up?

I'm not sure whether to go in big or not anymore - or just let my minimal pledge rot. I've been seriously unimpressed with the Way Jeremy has handled it all post-KS. All this talk of wave shipping, etc, and everything about how he'd done his homework for delivery in November, now it's looking more like the typical Kickstarter bs and November 2015...
