Reading Glasses? Get yourself a pair more powerful than what you need too, and use them in place of the normal glasses,as magnifiers for painting. It works. Just don't forget your wearing them and get up to walk around.

Nah, all-the-time glasses... It's a little scary just how blurry the world had become without me noticing...

Meanwhile, I am focusing my efforts by attempting to not work on more than half a dozen projects at once...

It was a real joy to have you take part in the challenge insaniak, thank you so much for taking the time to make a really superb entry. Mantis Warriors never look so good to me as when someone else makes them!

Looking forward to your next projects!

Thanks for a fun comp Getting the excuse to work on something different can be awesomely stimulating for the ol' creativity gland, so I really enjoy themed competitions.

The two at the front centre go together

It's a bit of a self challenge. The metal guy is a Reaper dwarf warrior. I want to see how closely I can replicate it... Sort of a litmus test for just where my sculpting skills are currently at. Not expecting to get anything like a perfect match, but it will help me to see just what I need to work on improving.

Hopefully. Otherwise, it might just be a depressing kick in the realities... Guess we'll have to wait and see

A little more progress...

Added a lower jaw to the skull on the chainaxe, did some detail work on Ork Junior, some upper body work on Ork Senior, first leg on the dwarf, and made some good progress on the two as-yet-unnamed guys at the back.

More soon!

Had to take another small break from hobby stuff to have baby #2 (well, my wife had the baby, but apparently I'm supposed to be somewhat involved as well...) but starting to get back at it... busted out the paints to do some more work on my MEdge stuff the other day, and will hopefully have an update on something or other by the weekend.

Although if you're into such things, there's also a separate blog thread for my ongoing terrain project here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/650202.page

I wish...

No, the white plastic is just 'plasticard' - sheets, rods and tubes of plastic that can be cut and glued as needed.

Thanks Trying to go a bit 'minimalist' on the bases, but still wanted some detail on there so they weren't just bland, solid colour.

A little more progress on the Epirians, including finally putting together an actual 120-point force to get some table time out of these guys... I'm shifting this out into a separate thread in the MEdge section here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/700450.page#8857361

Haven't had a chance to nut out anything too solid yet, but was looking at something along the lines of making it move-or-fire to account for the recoil on the small spider chassis, but maybe . Possibly reduced movement, but with the weapon gaining Titan Killer or Guided.

Unit of 1 scorpion and a handler.
