Nice work, the green and blue make an interesting combination and I approve of the different schemes for the different types, better overall presentation.

Been awhile since I worked on any Deadzone stuff, but I got a couple enforcers done this evening.

Nice, I like how you managed to give Recon the proper mohawk. The mold line across mine was so bad, when I finished I had to turn it into a helmet.

I bought him at retail awhile back. I don't know if that helped (as opposed to getting the KS version, which was probably a 1st run) or if I just happened to get a better copy.

Wait, Recon had a Mohawk? I thought it was a strip of armor. Lol. Either way, mine got a custom 'do. Both of em.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Crazy, huh. Never would have known if I hadn't gone to Mantic's website. After I trimming the mold lines on mine, he had no ears, so I treated it like a helmet.

Last faction I finished up are the Rebs and don't think I've shown any of these to date. These guys were pretty fun to paint, but I saved the Yndij for last and I was getting burnt out on restic by the end. Became a real chore.

Not going to touch a brush until after the 4th and then think I'm going to paint a Flames of War Open Fire starter for a change of scenery.

Most of the sculpts came in pairs so I went with an alternating color scheme for their uniforms.

Sick! Nice colors all around. I think the terraton's pinkness works well, with the scheme and in general. Good work

Awesome stuff Triple9. Liking the Rebs commander and Teraton paint jobs in particular :-)

Just found this thread now. Some really nice stuff going on here.

Are people ok with proxies that are being used in mantic games, or is it mantic minis only? I have some of each.

Proxies will depend on your playing group, but personally, I'd have no issues, especially if they were aesthetically similar.

Counts-as is generally okay for most people (i.e. Space Marines as Enforcers), which is what people generally mean when they mention proxies.

Proxies, on the other hand, (i.e. AA batteries as Enforcers) are generally not quite as acceptable.

Rule of cool tends to win the day with a lot of folks, and avoiding obvious powergaming. Running plague and using tiny hunched/crouched/prone figures for your dogs, 2nd gens, and other melee units would be pretty nasty and I might have objections to playing a game with such a person. But playing with cool models that you'd rather use should be fine.

I wonder if those Mawbeasts the Marauders have can get infected by Plague? Cause they don't seem to be an Orx sub-species? Could use those instead?

They're larger, and where being small is a nearly overpowering advantage for melee units, I certainly don't see it being an issue from the rules side. Plague dogs aren't nearly as good in combat as the maw beasts though so you might be unfairly influencing the psychology in that way

Think I may ask Mantic if they're considering Plague-ifying them lol.

Hey triple9, I like your reb terraton, the pink skin with blue armour is really quite striking, are you sure he's not a scret worshipper of slannesh or Tzeentch

Right then, Ive been putting this off for far too long but i have to take the plunge and start painting my Marauders, question is what colour should I paint them?

I don't know if I really want the traditional green skinned orks and I want a uniform which says "were professional bad-ass space mercenaries" what would everybody suggest?

I may do a variation of Cadian for mine (no green clothing though)

hmmm interesting, just saw an ork colour scheme with purple skin, conflicted to whether I like it or not :

Without the warpaint I don't think I'd like it, but the white faces have me sold.

Those paintjobs looked nice but I wouldn't go with purple skin for Orks. Green is best!

As the Marauders are effectively mercenaries, why not paint some of them a darker/paler green (like the cadian green) to show they're older and more experienced?

I would (and have) stick with a dark green, not the GW cartoon green but green is best for Orx, especially if you make it rather muted.

Ive been looking at a few other paint jobs and found a desert ork, the skin looks pretty damn awesome so I think I might attempt something similar:

Now i just need to decided on uniform colour's.

I like the cartoony green so I'll be painting mine like this: http://taleofpainters.blogspot.se/2011/12/tutorial-painting-orc-skin.html

ok I think I've got a decent idea about how they're going to look, pale greenish yellow skin with a cadian inspired outfit, steel legion drab clothing black leather and possibly dark green armour plates but im still undecided about this since it might clash too much with the green skin tone. whats everybodys thoughts on this?

Take a decent black and white photo of a bog standard model, print it out then try the scheme on that first instead of your models

Learnt that from Catattafish (or however you spell it)

One thing I forgot to mention is, use a permanent marker to mark out the recesses before you start, so it looks something like the finished result.

Just the kit. Though I imagine this is how some of the 2nd wave stuff will be packaged.

The box is about 20"L x 12"W x 12"D for the ruined quadrant
