Psh, that's if you color inside the lines.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Will probably buy a sprue each of the plastic stuff they're releasing so forge, enforcers, peacekeepers

I reckon Mantic should come up with a different main colour scheme for their enforcers and whatnot something other than the white, which is a PITA to paint

Didn't see the update mention terrain specifically. If I ordered just a mat and a ruined wall pack, should I be getting it quite early?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

What were the changes to the boosters again? Just received my set and can't find the update.

Would I be correct in thinking that the Enforcers starter set will be updated to include 2 sprues of 5 Enforcers (and each booster with 1 sprue)? Just trying to figure out how many sprues I'll be receiving in Wave 3, and how many I should add in the survey vs. waiting for retail.

I'd like to know how many as well: I got two starters, two boosters...yeah, sounds about right. Should I be expecting 20 or 30 bodies?

THis is the relevant update

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/deadzone-the-sci-fi-miniatures-board-game/posts/790959

How many sprues do I get?

In June, we will ship you 2 Enforcer Troop sprues per Faction Starter.

The Enforcer Booster will get 1 Enforcer Troop sprue, plus some resin plastic bits.

The Enforcer Booster Bundle will have 2 sprues (1 sprue per booster)

Ok. Then that means I'm getting 40. Lol. Two starters, two booster bundles. Hello, complete Enforcer army!! All I'm missing are tanks. And I'll have enough striders now to do a full corp infantry army too (HWTs, Striders, grunts).

Looks like they gave me the regular restic Rebs Commander instead of my Resin one. :(

Did anyone get a base for their Inferno Drill?

I didn't get the drill but did get the base...

Mantic's new Russian-inspired packing system? One man gets the base, the other man gets the drill. When the man with the base dies, the man with the drill picks it up?

Really haven't had much time to check anything other than all my zombies are there and my books are in okay shape. And now Mars Attacks will be here in the near-ish term? Bleh...at least my order is really small there.

To be fair the packaging was light years ahead of both the KoW KS and Wave 1 of DZ; still piss-poor QC if people still aren't getting what they pay for IMO.

It's all good though, I've been giving all of my Mantic stuff away anyway. I tossed a good portion of the KoW stuff in the trash and gave the rest away; now it looks like I'm doing the same with DZ, already gave my terrain to a friend...he'll likely get the rest too.

My dislike of the company and its use of this material I have learned to despise so much has damaged my enjoyment of any product that I receive to the point I'll just divest myself of anything I get.

Sadly, my experience with Mantic has driven me back to GW. I've been spending quite a bit on 40k lately.

Not too enthused by that the amazing Mars Attacks packing system is actually going to take nearly a month just to dispatch everything, and the more you bought the longer you wait....

Have to say that I think the Big Stompy Robot looks amazing, will have to pick one of those up at retail. The MA delivery delay (for about half of the backers) does seem to be causing a minor mutiny in the Kickstarter comments, then again it may just be a case of those with complaints shouting the loudest.

Agnosto: It is a shame that some of Mantic's more shoddy practices have lost them your custom. I have found myself buying more 40k recently too. For me it was the desire to model multi-part hard plastic kits at a certain level of quality. I am still wary of how the hard plastic enforcers will turn out, I would have expected to have seen some finished sprues by now.

no probs. The wave 2 stuff is much better. I just assembled my wave 1 stuff by sitting down, putting STTNG on in the background and going one bag at a time

Please tell me it was "Cause and Effect" on an endless loop.

Anyway, I only got two restic minis from Deadzone, but they seemed quite nice to me. Some of the mold lines scraped right off. I did need* to use the hot water/hairdryer/plasma conduit trick to get the arms to line up, but other than that they were great. Well, and besides the poses being a bit joyless. But other than that, top notch.

*I needed to, but I didn't. A combination of brute force, apathy, and as-yet-unapplied gap filler did the job just fine, though.

I did that with the KoW stuff but I have local interest this time around. If anything changes, I'll let you know.

It was me! For which myself and several of my KoW buddies are still grateful.

I can totally understand hating on the PVC (it's really just not great) - but the terrain IS just great. Beats the pants off the old Hexagon/Platformer/etc modular kits, GW's SkullCity, Proxie's plastic building...

I can personally describe my being a fan of Mantic this way: They make great rules and they make models that are... good enough. Some misses, some hits, 75% pretty alright - and they all pass the 3-foot test. My need for high end models comes from places like Mierce Miniatures where I can get a model sculpted by one of the best sculptors on the planet for less than the cost of say, Nagash, or Antenociti's Workshop, where I can get realistic sci-fi vehicles for less than the cost of one Taurox Tonka Truck. For my super 28mm infantry though I am still grabbing the last few models I need for my LotR armies before the rest of the range is discontinued (and so much of it has been now )

I actually did throw quite a few into the trash before passing on the remainder to JD. I'm lucky in that I have ample money but little time which means I have zero patience to give things a hot-water bath, scrape off mold lines or otherwise remediate models. Mantic seems very comfortable selling their products, in this condition which has resulted in them losing my business; in two years I have gone from Mantic fan to someone who could care less if the company disappeared tomorrow.

As I said previously, this whole situation has pushed me back to GW where I can at least count on the quality of their hard plastics (sculpts not withstanding in some cases).

Yeah, throwing out models that many on here would happily reimburse you for is asinine. Most people who have been unhappy and wanted to get rid of stuff have used the trade thread I built, and people like me have offered to pay back Kickstarter prices for the stuff. Don't waste it. Like kings of war: if you had Elohi, trolls, or ogres, I'd have taken all of them. Judgedoug and Vermonter both sold me stuff they didnt want at retail price.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Where's this thread?

I've got a lot of minis if be happy to sell at KS prices or slightly below.

I like the terrain and can use it for multiple games - but I don't see myself playing Deadzne or Warpath, so...

There are times I've tried to give away figures for postage and couldn't get takers. So they get dumped. Storing stuff I don't want/need in the hopes of eventually finding it a home isn't something I do at this point. Sometimes it just is not worth the effort. If I don't want it and can't find a home for it quickly, it gets recycled or trashed depending on the material.

Having said that, I've donated a ton of good stuff to a local teacher who runs a gaming club at his school.
