I like it, but it doesn't scream plasma at me. Is it finished like that or are you adding casing around it?

I was under the impression the rods were from some pre-made decorative thing, hence the range of color? But that clearly doesn't mean Foda can't re-engineer the lights to all glow a beautiful and totally lethal shade of lightning blue (or scorpion green if you're like me ) ...

The gun looks fantastic, but I do agree all one color would be all the sweeter.

adamsouza - LOL, thanks.

akira5665 - LOL, I don't think I can support children on the wages my FLGS pays. I've never wanted a job from GW or FW. If you're forced to build models it kind of takes the fun out of it.

Anung Un Rama - I think he ment Lucasfilm or ILM. No the plasma gun isn't going to be just 1 color. I think its pretty cool with the strobing effect. I'll get a video uploaded tonight so y'all can see it in action.

snorkle - Its so cool the bolter actually sounds like a minigun revving up. The plasma is done except for paint and purity seals.

Boss_Salvage - I've burned throught about 6 AA batteries just revving the gun up and imagining it spraying infantry. The rods are from a little light stick thing. I think they were originally made for ravers, I picked them up a wholesale place for like $2 for the lot of 'em. The 2 on the ends glow the same color (and blink REALLY fast) the middle changes color as well but its alot slower so its kind of "trippy".

Ummmmm.....

I don't like the plasma arm. It obviously represents a lot of great work (way beyond my ability) but is not to my taste. I like the more classic GW look for plasma weaponry.

Adamsouza - LOL, they're not hard to build. You may even be able to find a toy with motorized parts to make the job that much easier.

ender502 - Thanks for the compliment. I have nothing against the plasma weaponry of GW other than the fact that a plasma pistol looks the same as a titan sized plasma gun.
The "ray gun" was built as more of a "ray gun" than a plasma gun. I will use it in games as a plasma gun though.

Well I realize its been a while but its hard to get my co-worker to come over (amazing how its hard to get someone to build a free titan).
Well this weekend I decided I was tired of waiting for him so I started on another "custom" gun.

Since I work retail I've got TONS of the recipt paper spools, so I glued 2 of those together, and glued a pair of those together:

Cap that with an old chimera hatch and you've got a rear end of a gun:

Another view:

Add on the weapon mounts some barrels:

As soon as I saw the update I had to jump on-"Trippy" quoteworthy!! I enjoyed seeing them in action 4 sure. The new guns are excellent. I particularly thought the use of 'bits' to embellish/detail is just great.

I want to see one built/painted.!!!Please!

Retractable barrels are for ease of transport? Or because you could?

Another sweet looking gun, though curious myself which gun it is ...

akira5665 - Thanks for the compliment! They'll be painted soon I've only got a few more guns to build before I start on the legs or head.

drunkorc - How's your casting coming? In the last mega game I ran I faced off against a great gargant, a stompa, 2 warhounds, and 3 baneblades.
I figured that the warlord needed a bit of help against all the other super heavy scratch builds in my area. And these fit on the table alot better.

Boss_Salvage - The barrels are retractable because it was almost tea easy not to. While building them I they kept falling in and out of the receipt paper rolls, and I noticed they looked cool extend and contracted,
so I added another tube in there and vwalla.
The gun will count as another turbo laster destructor, since its the best gun the warhounds can have (without a doubt) the more the marryier.

Props on the skills man. Those guns look great, I wish I could get that creative. I wanna try and construct a warhound at some point but I'm stuck on how to build the body and this helps me with some ideas.

I cant tell if its an Inferno cannon or a turbolaser.

Snorkle - Here's some pics from the game.
http://com5.runboard.com/bhtusaplano.f2.t459

Aquila - its a pressure pot used for painting. The only important thing is make sure it seals.

Pinto - Thanks! I'm glad this thread is helping, please post some pictures of your warhound!

Orlanth - It will be a turbolaser. I'm going to be building an inferno cannon later, I'm just pricing some neat attachments.

Looks like an awesome battle. All the minis look great, especially that Warlord. The railing on the platforms for the soldiers is a great touch. Though it looks a little big, even for a Warlord. It's at least 5'6" right?

snorkle - The warlord is 5' 1/4" it is to scale with Dan Abnett's "Titan: Godmachine" comic book.

Vandez - Thanks! The guys at my FLGS do not share your feelings though

Ok, now you have to work it out so that the extension / retraction of the barrels is automated and acompanied by sound effects.

Aquila - The pressure pot is for forcing the resin in the mold, the vacume chamber is used for the molds.

Pheonix - Well I blame this next gun on you then

This week I've been studying and doing homework and my dad surprised me with this beauty of a gun.

He started with our old friend:

He built it up and added some oblong pieces to the shaft (can you guess what it is yet?):

Mounted inside the project box:

Attach the batteries:

Glue on the receipt holders:

Add a button:

Then attach some rubberbands to the barrels:

Notice the position of the shapes changed so it'll push out the barrels:

Over head view:

And finally a video:
