The Tower of Vindication... My orky side is quivering at the awesome!
One of the first pics, I see you have a Gorkamorka box... I loved that game back in the day, tons of fun.
Also very much liking the beer fridge in the cave. Or are there two fridges?
I can't wait to really start banging out some squads painting. I have some really good ideas, I just have to set myself up a good place to paint that isn't where I game
I should really put the final couple touches on Abby and Snap a few more pics
Haha, we actually have a Gorkamorka legue at our FLGS... there are about 10 crazy people who play it like it's a religion... I just bought it for the models years ago
That is in fact 2 fridges. A beer fridge and wine fridge for when I'm feeling posh Automatically Appended Next Post: Baldsmug wrote:SO MUCH AWESOME GOING ON HERE! That titan is SICK! Great stuff man.

That is the dark light of Chaos itself burning from within the warp!
Actually It was dark in the games room and I wanted to snap some pics but the only way I could get good ones without the flash was to light the models. The only light I had was an LED with a slight blue tint Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks for tuning in everyone! Curious... if your opponent gets a penetrating hit on that tower and a 5 or 6 result, do you simply remove a level of Rhino? What happens if your get an Immobilized, do you get 5 Repair rolls?

I can always trust my Dakka Brothers and sisters to make me laugh when I come back here!
So here goes
I picked up this little machine here to see if it would help me with stripping mini's
So I figured I would start with this as my first victim
And the regular magic liquid as the paint remover
Set the time... turn on the heater...
And here goes nothing....
480 seconds later and a little steamy
I pulled it up out of the liquid and nothing magical happened
Only a small amount of pant had been removed
so I put the basket back down into the now very warm pool of simple green
and I added a well soaked model to see what it would do
That is actually a picture of the model after it had gone through the cycle. If you look closely you can see that the paint on the surface is rippled.
Paint was also starting to come off the tank body.
Since the ultrasonic by it's self was not removing large amounts of paint I decided to give the models a quick brushing:
Some paint came off the tank
The metal pieces on the other hand both stripped very easily, I was actually able to wipe a large amount of the paint off with just my finger.
The ease with witch the paint came off blew me away. Especially out of the deep crevices that would normally need a pick to even move.
More to come!

Yeah it seems to speed the process up more than anything.
I've also done some modelling and base coating in the last 2 days.
I layed down base coat on my brother's stompa and battle wagon.
And then since I had red in my airbrush I decided to tackle a few Khornate buggers
I painted the blood slaughterer impailer I built yesterday
Lord Zuhfor and Khorne terminator friends
A lord, a few bezerkers and Angron
I also helped my brother out a but by trying my hand at scuplting some green stuff to make a cybork face as part of a warboss conversion from an Inquisitor model.
I tried to make his skill look leathery and loose like it didn't quite fit his face anymore. My brother also didn't want teeth in his mouth.
It was quite a bit of fun working with the GS again and it makes me want to finish one on my Daemon Prince conversions from a different inquisitor model
Thanks for looking!

Simple Green works quickly on metal but seems to take several iterations to clean plastic. On the plus side, you can soak and resoak and resoak plastic and it doesn't get warped in Simple Green.

Yeah, That's why I keep using it. You can leave models in it for months and not have to worry about them. At worst it will take the shine off of metal models. I find it only does this if you put them back in for a second dip after scrubbing.

That's quite the amazing little gadget you have there.
My experience w/ Simple Green is that it needs a bit of muscle no matter how long it sits. A friend of mine put a WFB plastic Giant in a jar of simple Green and left it there for almost 6 months the paint was still stuck on.
Simple Green for metal is (mostly) amazing. For plastic... eh. It's not horrible (it works better than beer for example) but in the end there's still work to be done.

It does however seem to be creating the problem of having too many mini's compared to shelf space... that is being worked on in the background

Completely agree on the shelving front. The wife won't allow me to have more, so were moving house because we need a bigger house for minia...having a bigger family. The comedy is if we get an Ensuite i'm going to start hiding random miniatures in there just to hear her freak out. A couple of weeks back she was screaming because a large (read 2" across spider) was in the bathroom so I've been taking the piss out of her stationing soldier sentries to ward off spiders (this annoys her as much as the spiders do!). Ah the joys of a happy marriage.

So with a little more effort I found that the Ultrasonic cleaner worked exceptionally well!
This time around I cycled the machine on once every couple hours and let the models soak over night in the cycled solution.
The results turned out to be quite amazing!
Right away you can see in the milky simple green how much paint was being removed by the process
I managed to make fast work of a number of models. The paint was so loose that it was more like *brushing* that *scrubbing* to remove the paint.
What amazed me most is how clean these models got with such minimal effort.
I was able to strip a massive amount of models in quite a short time because my hands no longer get tired from scrubbing!
More to come~! Automatically Appended Next Post: Emperors_Champion wrote:Nice progress and as always, full of useful hobby tips! . . . Hmm. . . Maybe you should have your own TV show?

Haha! I guarantee the one you have at work is of better quality than this one It's good, but a commercial one would have a better duty cycle
