Started on the scenic base
We have the light side with the blue dragon with lots of green grass,moss,flowers and other bright stuff.
The dark side will be a more rocky looking part with less grass and other planty stuff
So what has happened at this moment?!
Well the work on the rocks has been started.
With the help of cork in different size/thickness i started building up the underground.
Next up will be adding some woodfiller to smooth out and blend in the rocks with the underground.
Pictures say more then words so lets rock ^^

Hope you guys like it sofar
C&c appreciated
Have a nice monday
Regards
Mark

Wow Mark, you're going from strength to strength with this diorama, The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the green on the scales, It looks like it would almost benefit from a black wash.

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

@EyeamRai thnx
@Knightley Thnx
I was in doubt to go for a real dark purple on the scales or the green ones
The green ones were the first i tried out and i was quite happy with the looks of them.
I will take a look at them again and deceide about the black was because it might be cool if i blend them in a bit more
We will see what happends
@Madmatt thnx for the kind words!

Might be back later with some pictures (gotta love a day off)

@Remco thnx alot
@Leviathus Tvm i used Vallejo still water for the river..i had a small bottle wich i emptied already bigger bottle is ordered
The stuff is really great and dries up up perfectly transparent...only thing...it shrinks so you need a few layers to build it up
Thnx for viewing

A little update
The water is done took me 5 layers of Vallejo still water to get the desired look.
First time working with Still water and i must say it's great stuff to work with.
Only thing to keep in mind when working with still water is it shrinks a bit so you need to build up more then one layer to get the desirable effect.
When the last layer has dried(tommorow) i can start working on placing the dragons...glue the blue dragon on his base and glue on the riders head wich means the first of the 2 dragons is completely finished then.
Black dragon needs a little bit of work before he can be glued on to his base.
Also done a free hand banner for one of my skeleton warriors curious what you guys think about it

Have a nice day and weekend!
Thnx for watching

Love the banner on the skeleton warrior-very characterful.
Your painting is really good- clean lines and the diorama has been a pleasure to watch grow.
Just one thing- can we get a better picture of the water effects?

Cheers
Ig
