He looks really good. Tarik has popped up on sale a few times and I've thought about getting him. Maybe I should next time he comes up.

Now THAT is a well painted Tarik!

@Littletower: Thank you! As a character, he deserves a bit of extra attention ^^

@Evildrcheese: Thank mate! Nice to have you along There's not much in this thread lol but hopefully that'll change. Glad you like it.

@ Para: Thanks! Yeah he's great to just paint up, I'd love to see your work on him.

@ Barzam: Thanks Barzam. I do recommend picking him up if you can. I think he'd suit your Haqq scheme nicely.

@ Alpharius: Thank you! Same here, I'm waiting for some resculpts of the Khawarijs. Existing one isn't bad but it's just not scary like this guy. Although, I think the next book is still a while away :(

@ Camkierhi: Thanks Cam . It's not really that noticeable but there's two different yellows I tried on the mini. On the shoulder, pecs and knees its more a gold yellow, and on the rest its more of a light yellow. Hard to tell because I highlight up to white and I wash both with a yellow glaze which I guess brings them closer together. But all just experimenting here.

So I've gotten around to finishing off the base. Just something simple, because I'm a simple guy. I tried a bit GW's Agrellan earth mix. It's fun to use actually and I think it worked out all right. You don't get much in a pot though, and you use a lot, so basing large armies with it is probably not very economical.

Here's some updated pics. There's a few more angles in my gallery.

Sorry for the pic spam! But hey since it's a new page anyway.

Close up of his angry face.

I have no photoshop skills so no fancy collage .

Oh yes and I forgot. I finished that Tiger soldier and am onto the next one now.

Here's the finished one.

Pic of the back. You can't really see the back detail if I set him down because of the angle of the miniature.

All right. Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoy

First time dropping in after seeing, and loving, your entry in this months painting competition. I have little knowledge of the Infinity miniatures but this is excellent work. It is eve more impressive given the generally trer scale of the miniatures.

The green on the Tiger Soldier is amazing as is the yellow on Tarik. Subbed.

Did you ever start work on the Malifaux Dreamer crew on the first page? Would love to see you tackle Lord Chompy Bits.

Haha thanks Dr H!

Thraxas! Thank you, glad to have you along. The infinity minis are fantastic, although they can be a bit tricky at times. Unfortunately Lord Chompy is still sitting in front of my all bare :( but since you asked I will try get him painted this month!

No painting in this update but got a whole bunch of stuff in. Got quite a bit of stuff during the Black Friday sales woo!

How did everyone else go? There were some fantastic deals on! Most of everything I got was about 50-75% off! Crazy. I bought a lot of stuff. Like a lot.

It's going to take forever to get through it all but those prices. I couldn't pass on those deals.

So here's my BLACK FRIDAY HAUL PART 1 (yes part one)

Wrath of Kings Stuff. Also you can see I picked up a couple W&N brushes and cleaner. They come in these fancy little tubes. How nice. I don't feel I'm worthy of using them just yet, but they're nice to have. Too bad they ran out of my main brush size 0. These are Size 1 & 2 brushes but still good.

I really like the steampunnk side of the Teknes faction. Not so hot on the funny looking gnomes and piggy people. Wasn't going to pick up the special character box since I only wanted the minotaur and not the other two. But at half price? Sure why not. Was pretty excited to see how they looked so I spent a bit of time putting each of the characters together.

The CAGE. He's my favourite model of the bunch. He reminds me of the Iron Giant.

The Mighty Taur. Very impressive model. There's actually a couple pieces not separated in the pic below, which I fogot about. THe two chimney stacks on top of his back pack are separate pieces. Also, the chain on his nose is very fragile . Be careful! The two tiny pieces on the sprue in the bottom right hand corner, I'm not sure what they are. I think they might be his nipples but the art work doesn't have them so I'm no sure.

Lineman/Controller. Pics didn't turn out great I'm sorry. But they are really simple models to put together. I only built one of each for now.

The little gauge on the back pack is actually a separate piece but its hard to see in that pic.

I like the cartoonish charm these minis have. Great expression on this guy's face.

All the minis have peg holes so they fit together easily enough, most of the time anyway.

Female lineman. Her face looks a bit funny and her arm didn't really fit that well.

Here they all are assembled. I don't like the really deep bases they come with, so I will have to get some other ones for them.

So besides Wrath of Kings, I also picked up some reinforcements for my Infinity stuff.

Some Aleph stuff. I don't plan on branching into Aleph just yet, but these guys can be taken in the ISS setorial so I thought I'd nab them.

And some more stuff my Corregidor and Haqqislam.

I am thinking of maybe painting McMurrough for the monthly painting competition. Could be a nice personal challenge, painting animal fur/skin and also tartans which might be tricky. So I put McMurrough together to see how he looks.

Front bits. He has Haqqislam style armour and backpack, but I don't know if I will do them in yellow.

Back bits. He's hollow, but he's still pretty hefty. He's a big model.

I'll see if I can get a comparison pic later but he is really big. Same base size as Tarik, but Tarik the super soldier is a dwarf in comparison.

And to round out part one of my Black Friday haul, I got a some of Werner Klocke's lovely Freebooter minis.

Picked up the books which are beautiful. No hardcover available unfortunately but the pages are very nice and have that old pirate scroll look. The game looks fun and it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously which I like. Only skimmed a bit of the rules but game wise it seems interesting, no dice are used only cards and you can target individual body parts, arms, legs, etc, and crits on those areas will reduce the mini's effectiveness. And the more you get hurt, the more your morale drops. It's only a few models each game, around 6-8, so the bookkeeping isn't too bad, and it's all on the cards to make it easier.

Picked up the Amazon crew to start, but I have some proper Pirates on the way

Put the starter box together. The minis are very tiny! Like old tiny infinity scale. But they are all women, so they extra thin!

I like how the mini's all come with sculpted bases that match the model's theme. So all Amazons have a sort of jungle base/ancient ruins.

The models are small so they can be a bit fiddly to put together. But they still have tons of detail. Hopefully I don't cover it all up.

Here they are all ranked up nicely.

Okay! Sorry for the pic spam. That's all I got for now! Some painting soon..

Thanks for stopping by.

Glad to see some WOK stuff here, personally I love the look of the Hadross miniatures. Sadly as is mostly the case with CMON ranges they are not readily available in the UK.

And never be ashamed of PIC spam, the more the better. And good luck with Lord Chompy Bits, just beware he is quite happy when constructed.

Hey Guys,

Sorry about the other stuff! It's kinda been put on the backburner for now. Back painting again now so here instead, have some pics of my next Infinity model.

Guija TAG. Some WIP shots of the legs.

Here in his bare metal glory. A hefty piece of metal.

If anyone was curious, the leg is base coated with yellow-green.

Then shaded with green ink. Highlighted up by adding yellow-green to the green ink and progressively adding more yellow-green and ivory to taste. Finish with top highlights of white.

Another view of them thighs and calves.

And again on the other leg.

Bottom half all finished.

Poor Seraph getting stomped on.

View of the backside.

All done for now.

Thanks! Hope you like it. And forgive my lack of updates :x.

Very Nice. Now, get a nice stand so you don't have to hold the mini while taking the photo. Less likely to get a blurry photo. The yellow/green works pretty well. Do like.

Great work Ckig. It's been a second but I remember the first guy you painted in this scheme...you really have it down..super clean, bright as ever. I bet these miniatures are just dazzling on the table top. Also super interesting to see how you did it with the yellow first. Makes a lot of sense!

I am interested in your concept for nmm over areas that are busy and heavily sculpted. Do you layer your lighter colors over a large area in general, disregarding details, to build the gradual brightening of the chrome, then pick out edge highlights etc etc at the end that solidify a nmm look, or do you paint each portion indivuifually? Like for instance.....the chrome part with all the tiny panels....(more specifically I mean like the boots on the sniper I'm working on....lots of sharp plates on top of each other.....) ..

Thanks man, great great stuff.
Cheers!

Thanks guys! Appreciate the words. Very motivational ^^

@ Red Harvest: I know Sorry for the dodgy photos! Good idea for a stand. Um.. Sorry these next pics don't have one haha.

@ BB: High praise coming from you. thanks a lot. Your work is something to look up to Umm regarding your question, I paint each section individually, I think. it probably takes longer this way but I like to break down my painting this way. Actually wait, I may do it both ways lol, Some areas I group together like all the tiny ribs I think it's easier to paint together since they all work together. But then some areas like the feet with plates in all driections then I paint them individually. If that makes sense. To be honest, I think I am just an ok painter (who takes his time) so I don't really know if that's the right way or not. A lot of my work is trial and error :x

It's coming along guys. A bit more work here and there. An arm and a chest done

So, for the crest on his head, not sure if I should do it white, or gold, or just green. What do you guys think?

The autobalancing thing makes colours this pic a bit harsher than they really are.

Will try some better pics later! Apologies. But hope you like it anyway.

Thanks guys

I think a warrior like that deserves a good helmet crest, anything else would be a let down.

@ Joe: Thanks! It's definitely taken a while.

@ Shas: Ha! I'd love to see that actually. Although if you do want to keep the military colours, Ariadna may be a good fit for you.

@ Theo: Thanks for the suggestion. See pics below! Let me know what you think. I didn't do the unit logo though. I looked at the Guija logo, it's too crazy for me lol. In fact most of Yu Jing unit logos are.

Alrightey guys, the big guy is finally done! Yay!

So the 'gold' crest. Yay or Nay? I'm not sure about it so looking for confirmation. I'm actually not very good at the NMM. It looks better in the photos

Another angle.

Back view.

Love the hook sword on this guy. The NMM was easier to paint on small panels like on the hilt.

Went for a purple blade on the sword. Purple to tie it in with the rest of my Yu Jing.

Finally done!

What to paint next? Will be going through all my infinity stuff to catalogue it all and I will decide then. Will take some pics of it. It's a lot to get through D:

Hope you guys like it. Thanks! C&C is always welcome
