Subject: Artisan Guild Miniatures - News about Sculpting, Casting and Production
While our models would be good for painters, collectors and a good alternative for wargaming, there are several projects on the way. We are working on a Boardgame for these miniatures and there's also a rpg that's under playtest.
So don't worry if you don't get new renders by us during a weekend, it could be heavy playtesting week or developing on new rules.
About 3d prints of our models, I will look into it to have some preview before the production starts. It will be surely not the next few days
We are currently in the sculpting phase, resin-metal production will follow.

If you really *need* a bearded dwarf female - just pretend one of the males is...female!
Pretend? Bah.. that's no fun. It does mean conversions which means we have to figure out if it's easier to sculpt a beard onto a female or boobs onto a male..
As we worked for more than 3 year on a Role Playing game, most of the setting is done. Is someone interested in a rough description of the models, coming inside a Spoiler?
About the renders, don't worry if we don't publish with the same frequence of before, we are working at the same rythm, but we decided to save some miniatures for the project launch.
Right now is too early to give a precise launch-day, surely the more weeks-months we work on the project the better it will start!

Finally we manage to start sculpting the first (of ten) Orc Warrior. Now I'm really in trouble, as I'm not sure if I like more the Dwarves or the Orcs...
What do you think about that?

Supershort background (not in a correct English, beware!)
Spoiler:
In the lands of Aera, the Orcs are fierce and corrupted creatures.
Unlike other gods, Jarzo, the Lord of blood, has never managed to create sentient beings capable of worship him.
After thousands of years of failed experiments, giving birth to creatures too stupid to please him as the Trolls, the Morrs and Ogres, the Bloody Lord was able to convince an abject creature to infiltrate a Firbolg tribe, during the rite of initiation.
The Firbolgs, sons of the God of the Roots Uma (also worshiped by the dwarves) are a population of strong, skillfull and wise humanoids, about two meters tall. During the ritual of Initiation, the Firbolgs cut spiral-shape scars on the bodies of young people, sending them wounded to survive in the wilderness. Young Firbolgs must then make pilgrimages to other far tribes, coming alive after almost one year with new scars, in order to be admitted to the Great Hunters Lodge.
After the temporary Jarzo's servant replaced the ceremonial dagger with a replica, cursed by the Blood God, the Firbolg Druid began to carve the first spirals. The young Firbolg, in a blind fury wounded more than half tribe, turning them into these new bloody creatures. The new beings responded to Jarzo now, who ordered them to train all his experiments failed to turn them into capable servants. All this did not happen: The corrupted Firbolgs, which was given the name of Orcs, cursed the name of Jarzo and decimated his creatures. After millennia, Troll, Morr, Ogre and all the seed of Jarzo who haunts the wilderness is in jeopardy but even stronger, after the natural selection imposed by the Orcs, the population of warriors and slave without a god. Now the Orcs are stronger than ever, they control large territories and run the Slaves City. Even if they are enemies of most of the free people, Orcs hate the sons of Uma: Dwarves and Firbolgs

I like them. I'm sure some people might complain because they don't look like GW orcs but I'm glad they don't. We have more than enough of those. Really nice work!

Thanks!
I like GW orcs design, but it's not what I mean for Orc. We are more for Middle Earth and Tamriel Orcs
As for miniatures, I would like to make original designs, not a copies from other existing miniatures. I think it's easier to buy GW orcs in that case

Yeah, absolutely. I have a LOT of GW orcs but outside of that universe they don't always fit in, especially for D&D and other RPGs. I can't wait for your KS, you (however many of you guys there are) are killing it!

Orcs are off to a great start. You're spot on going for a different aesthetic to GW's -not that there's anything wrong with GW orcs, but who wants more of the same? I like a more serious take on greenskins.
I let the dogs out

Thanks all for the kind comments.
The orcs are about 31-32mm to the eyes (standing, but battle poses are always with a little bit bent legs or rotated torso).
The dwarves are about 22-23mm to the eyes, and the more standing ones even 24.
The bases we are using for renders are 25mm diameter.
About Heroes and Heroines, what would you like to see for the Dwarven Warband? We have some in mind, but please let us know your tastes

4 types of heroes I could see being instantly useful
A shaman/priest/runesmith whatever you want to call it would be cool to see from you guys.
A thane or king that's ready for battle.
A female berserker character
A grizzled adventurer type

Ahahah that's incredible! Because we planned to make a Dwarf King, a female Troll-Hunter, a grizzled male Ogre-Smasher (with fists weapons), and a rune-priest. This is really a funny coincidence, but maybe we all are so shaped by the common dwarves that they are a must

We would like to make something different today, a little "game" (can't find a better word). There's this Orc Hero who reeeeally like dwarves, as you can see from the sketch.
What's the name of this Orc Hero? Be creative and Orcish! If there are enough entries, the better one will be chosen as his name, so spread the word!
My personal entry is:Kurgash Dwarf-Slicer
