OK, so I don't think that I will change the way I am attaching the upper wings...........
I think that I just need to finish the detail and let them sit as is...
For comparison I found this....

Hey thanks for helping out yesterday, Brother Paen. I know we didn't get much done, but as you can probably guess it went faster with help.....
I did get both the upper wings permenantly attached, though this morning. I have decided that I liked the way they were hinged and will keep it.
Also, did some more upper wing detail and rivet planning:
And, for anyone out there who cares to know, Brother Paen has been so kind as to provide some GW Bits for this bad boy. In order to save a little time, and authenticity, I will be applying a REAL Turbo Laser Destructor, REAL Twin Linked Heavy Bolters on all four Sponsons, REAL Turbo Lasers on the upper wing tips and some very well done missiles under the Wings. The amount of bits this guy has laying around going to waste is disturbing on so many levels......
I may have to apprentice this man.....
I had always planned to have real heavy bolters but Brother Pawn had the sponsons I needed. I guess I will be building for him for a while. He already layed out several cunning plans for me to muddle my way through. Notably, and hopefully to begin soon, a Thunderhawk Heavy Transport..... Automatically Appended Next Post: Almost forgot the pile of toe parts we cut yesterday, Brother Paen.....
A little quick math showed me that in order to do the Mass build we would need 352 toe parts not counting the detail pieces or the hinge tubing.
Add in the roller for the back toes and the trim pieces for all of them and the total reaches nearly a thousand. Add in the hinge tubing and connectors to the toe pad and it hits a,most two thousand.....
Man we haven't even hit the ankles here yet......
