Would love to see the 'lesser daemon' types sculpted in a similar style to the larger ones to flesh out a cohesive range.

This was brought up a lot during the campaign, the response IIRC was that we may well see daemon prince-scale models as part of the next KS/on the webstore in future, but that he probably wouldn't be doing regular infantry-sized daemons because he most enjoys sculpting bigger models with loads of details.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

You're better off checking the kickstarter comments to be honest, Jeremy is only really active there and occasionally on youtube, sorry if that's not a huge amount of help.

Got an update a few days back with some shots of the chaos dragon and a planned meetup.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I have a question I'm wondering if other pledgers can answer. I finally got around to doing the pledge manager for this Kickstarter, went on Skykadia, reset my password and all that. But I'm not sure if my Kickstarter linked with Skykadia.

I picked the models I wanted and locked in my order, and my order summary says this:

Cost (CAD)
Pledge levels $ 95.00
All products $ 90.00
Total $ 185.00
Pledged $ - 185.00
Balance $ 0.00

Now, just to be clear, the balance being zero is indicative that my balance due for the pledge is $0, correct? I've never used Kickstarter before this one, so I just want to be sure that I'm not going to get a request for another payment at a later date. Sorry if this question is obtuse, but I just want to be thorough.

No that should be correct. Essentially you already have the $185 in store credit from your pledge and the outstanding total is $0.00.

Which is impressive, I ended up throwing another couple of hundred at it when mine came around.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

There was an update just today saying the riderless dragon options where done so we're close to the end.

Creature Caster wrote:Big update coming next week. In the meantime, check out some high-res Dragon rider'less kit pics It was a little tricky making it so that you can use the neck barding along with the saddle or howdah, as well as the plug, but that hard works means you can now enjoy any configuration you like, and even more with magnetization. Super versatile and playable. You will be a rock star at gaming night with these dragons

Casting and production have started up. With sculpting almost complete it will be good to focus on production entirely, and I will let you know how that goes every step of the way.

The renders looked good... progress has been sadly really slow here, though. I would've thought the earlier designs would be cast and done by now, but that does not seem to be the case...

Rather pleased the pledge manager hasn't closed too, coming out of the 'spent all my money on xmas' period so might be able to add a couple once pics of the finished product appears.

Update... at last

Hi all, It’s time to see the list of things that need doing!

For those of you who have been following the Kickstarter comments this is old news, but for everyone else here’s the link to photobucket that has the sculpting list:

The great news is that sculpting is nearly done, all that’s left:
- Vulture Minion
- Mountain Dragon Head
- Zombie Dragon Head
- Possessed Dragon Tongue
- Possessed Dragon Riderless Kit
- Super Secret Free Miniature
Prints
The Treewalker, Maggot Demon and Plague Angel are being printed as we speak , so we should have lots of pics of those soon.
The Vulture Demon has been sent of for a small print run of which we’ll be send some to Michael at Painting Buddha so he can get on with some painting and work on the DVD, some to the manufacturer and some to worldwide famous painters so we can see the possibilities!
I am going to be travelling to the casting house this week and will have lots of pics of those soon. I will photo and document the unmolding process and shoot some video on my thoughts about the model itself. Once there is absolutely no sculpting left here to do, and everything is either being printed or cast, I will be able to paint on up as well.
Super Secret Mini
We have got the idea for the secret super mini (lovingly provided by you the backers), but we’re keeping it to ourselves and you’ll find out the surprise when you get the rest of your goodies.
What’s next?
As the last few bits come together for the sculpting and we wait for the final prints to be sent off and come through, it’s then onto manufacturing as they work out how long it’s going to take to cast them. After that it’s onto working out final delivery costs, which will need paying through Skykadia. When you get a shipping cost, it means your package is ready to be sent. In the meantime though, I’m really looking forward to showing off the Maggot Demon & Plague Angel, at which point another update with images will come out.
I will be back again soon with completed sculpted for the Possessed Dragon with the additional extra parts. Thank you again for your patience and support.
Take care!

It's exciting to see the update finally, although I wish he'd go back to using Photobucket for weekly updates. I fear that we might not see the models until May at the earliest, but I guess we'll have to wait and find out.

I know I've got way too much money put into this Kickstarter but I'm definitely glad that it's finally almost past the sculpting and that means the models will be produced!

I don't think I was ever worried that this wasn't going to happen, I have pretty good faith in Jeremy to deliver the models... it's more or less a thing of when. November is long passed and while the boat does seem to be moving, we still don't have an estimated delivery date.

Sorry for bringing this back up with nothing really further on the kickstarter to add, but.....

I was talking to Neal from thewarstore.com on the phone just a few minutes ago about an order and asked him if he was going to be carrying Creature Caster stuff. "I don't know what that is." So I explained it to him referencing jeremy being the former owner of Ultraforge, and having done a kickstarter for his new company. let's just say there probably won't be support from thewarstore.com, and it MOST LIKELY will not be carried there.

Shame. I like using The War Store a lot due to the flat shipping and that they are a 2 day delivery for me. Usually I get about $100 per order.

I'm missing something. Was there an issue between them before?

i don't know if there was an issue, but Neal still has all about 14 Ultraforge products in stock...
as these have failed to sell out, after a few years of Ultraforge stuff being unavailable in most places, i bet he is not in a hurry to invest in a competing product...
newer, shinier sculpts would most likely guarantee that he would never sell out of his original stock of Ultraforge minis...
just a theory, but it seems logical...

it will be interesting to see which resin will be used to cast the minis from this Kickstarter...
the original Ultraforge Treewoman that i have from 2008 will be hard to improve on for quality...
it is one of the best resin casts i own...
the only better quality cast i have is from Figuralia in Spain, another garage kit company...

it is interesting to note that the bigger a company goes in it's production run, the lower the quality gets...
comparing Studio Mcvey LE's to Forge World is night and day in quality...
SM blows FW out of the water, while Figuralia (doing a run of 50 copies) are better than anything else i own...
i hope Creature Caster can live up to the quality established by Ultraforge...

cheers

Sorry it's taken a while to respond. I normally don't hit the discussion threads, but I was checking in here after posting in the kickstarter comments. Someone else had commented there about defending creaturecaster, and I just now posted there what transpired.

I don't think there was anything personal against jeremy. I think it was more hurt feelings because of another kickstarter. I know kickstarter hurts the retailers, especially the online discounters like Neal. I mean kickstarter is doing to them what they do to regular brick and mortar stores (deeply undercut the price they can sell for). So they are now feeling the way GW did when they see their profits fall.

As for thewarstore.com having a lot of stock on hand. They routinely sell through the Ultraforge figure. I know because I have bought them before when I was building an oldschool plague marine army, and then a slaanesh army I've looked at buying models from them and they've been out if stock multiple times and then gotten more back in. Probably not a huge seller, but still some of the best alternative sculpts for chaos and wood elves.

I do agree completely on the quality of the sculpts and their final outcome. They are outstanding. The models go together beautifully, and had no holes/bubbles or warpage....except the chaos kind obviously.

I believe Mantic's Dreadball has massively outsold itself through retailers than it sold though kickstarter, despite being a massive KS. Smaller scale stuff might have less of a payoff but it is getting product produced to sell via FLGS, a FLGS not wanting to stock it is just creating exactly the situation they fear of it not selling outside of the KS.
