well it depends on how they fan and how they fit back on to the model. If they are going to be separate pieces then there needs to be no overlapping elements which it looks from the concept as if there is a flange that stretches across the arm which is going to be problematic at least.

If they do not fan out too drastically it won;t be as much of a problem. I would direct the modeler ( I am assuming this will be done digitally ) to beef up the blades just a touch to make sure they fill consistently. If they are casting these in resin then the blades might cause the molds to wear out faster given the amount of flex and drag they create in de-molding. But there again that all depends on how the molds are cut and what the final composition of the pieces of the model are.

It appears as if the arms are going to be separate pieces from the torso being that there are no seams to hide the joins on the arms. That in and of itself might be problematic as well but probably much less so. the horns will probably also need to be separate pieces as well given the ay they curve around the head.

Our sculptor is a seasoned professional when it comes to breakdown of models for casting and he also knows what elements of the sculpt need to be more sympathetically done to establish an easily cast model. I have lots of faith in him. The concepts are only a flavour of what the final model will be, although we do try and keep as close to the original as possible. I have some more sculpts to show you against the concept art that was shown previously.

The name does sound familiar. Who else has he worked for? Didn't he do something for Reaper?

One would simply purchase it from the addon store. It's the only way that people who did not pledge last time can get it. It is only £3.

I should have the render tomorrow.

I think it's free if you backed the prior campaign (although maybe just one copy, but sure what happens if you buy two bugbears) but you will be able to add it on even if you didn't back the previous one. That way no one gets left out and it's a sweet bit that I think a lot of folks will want.

Edit: Ninja'ed! Another question is would it be included in the EB 4-pack pledges?

If you pledged last time you get the head free. If you did not it costs £3 and you cannot pick it as part of a standard purchase. If you want it then it will be £3. It's limited edition and I feel I owe it to the original backers!

The loyalty head is cool and all, but that Tusked head is way cooler.

Oh, I had it backwards! So, the tusked helm is available just as a normal selection. But have we seen the render of the loyalty helm? I think the other one shown further up this page is just the "roaring head". The loyalty helm art is in the top right corner of this spoilered pic:

This is the Bugbear Ironshield Loyalty Helm and a render showing a set of new arms for the Flesh Golem

I can also now give you guys a launch date for the new Kickstarter. We will be launching at 9pm on the 29th which is basically next Wednesday.

Tell your friends!!!

October 29th is now marked on my calendar

Flesh golem looks suitably creepy, and maybe I'm imagining it but the entrails look slightly improved! If that arm is available as a separate bit, I might buy it for use with some other things even though I'm not planning on making any of my selections flesh golems.

The loyalty helm front looks very cool, although I'm not a big fan of the crest. That will be easy to clip off, though, in which case this may actually be the one I end up using! I feel a bit spoiled for choice on the heads, I'll be honest

The reason Victor Hugo may sound familiar to people is, aside from doing a bit of sculpting, he is also a French writer, known for, among others, Les Miserables.

Is it just me, or do the links on that chainmail on the golem look a bit too large for something that's going to be 28mm, let alone 55mm?

...sci fi offerings?

Like we wouldn't notice that little nugget?

I know some on Dakka had expressed interest in using those goblins as xenos. Might your sci fi offerings have something to do with that?

Looking forward to Wednesday!

Whatchu talkin' bout, tamburlaine?

I haven't seen any official mutterings about sci fi offerings here recently.

I do think it might be wise to sell a bits pack of flesh golem arms, though. I have no use for golems, but mutated arms are always useful, across many genres.

You can purchase any of the flesh Gokem arm sets individually.

We are planning a sci do range but we will complete the fantasy range first so a long way to go.
