Too kind, but thanks!

New additions look good, too, now I'll be waiting for the action shots!

More "elaborated" and heavily detailed terrain pieces might look good, but are slower to do and definitively not as "usable" in an actual game (not to speak about how easily the get damaged both in use and, god forbid, transportation!), so quicker building of longer lasting pieces in sometimes the way to go, and, when matched with some forethinking and good painting, you have shown great results can be gained.

And belated happy BD!

Thanks all.

This terrain is for the my Flgs. It's Foamboard and hot glue with spackle for texture to cover the ' Foam' sections so the spray paint doesn't disolve it. All in it probably cost me less than 50 bucks. it will start to show 'chipping' right away but it is 100X better than the crappy stuff we currently play with.

I be bringing it with me when I can get the others in my group to stop working so hard and set a date to play. I'll be the first to game with it for sure!

Next up I'm going to add some Flora to the 2x2 section of the park pieces. IF that goes well I'll try my luck at doing some forest peices.

In the meantime I've primed and basecoated the bikes, some foot slogging special weapons marines and my 2 in progress GMS trades. I'm also trying to finish up the Imperial Bastion. It will be painted like the terrain peices but with a bit more bronze added to make it standout.

I have some priming to do on some Eldar pieces while I got my AB out.

Have you considered a final coat of polyurethane finish for better protecting those builds?

(Both Rust-Oleum and Krylon, to name two popular brands, seem to carry them in gloss and matt aerosol cans, and it would add an extra shielding layer against the chipping and wearing from game-use)

Thanks.. Yep.. they all have several coats of spray on them. They'll get a few more between the drybrushing and the tiny bit of details I'll add.

Thanks San.. Yeah .. My White and Turquoise Eldar as well!
Results from my Floral experiments. Added to the 4 separate Park pieces I’m donating to my Flgs. I think they turned out good. I’ll try some more exotic plastic plants in the future, such as stuff found in pet store for aquariums. They have a much wider range of colors ( orange, purple ect ) that might look more off world.
Since these are 4 separate pieces they have the advantage of use them separately or together in different configurations.

Close up…

Suggestion to improve are always welcome. I could have added more detail like dirt around the base , but decided not to put more into it as these will get roughed up quickly by the young and careless hands at our Flgs.

Finished the stripes on the last 3 road section . Added another coat of spray varnish. Camera phone shot so there is a wee bit of glare. They are not this shiny. Now just gotta set up a big game to use them with.

I tink they turned out great SL. You should weather those white stripes... they look a little new when compared to the road sections.

Thanks for commenting.. I was beginning to think Dakka was not working.

Yeah.. new can of paint.. I'll distance shoot some black spray paint on them.

I'm going to try to do some 'forest' sections. I have a lot of artificial plant's ( very cheap ) Maybe in rows so they can form outlines thus are easier to use with actual models. Hedgerows? hummm.

Different terrain. More stuff for the store. I'm not gonna add anymore detail to the stuff I already did. I just wanted to improve the current stuff we play on and add some common theme.

Color wise this gave me a good chance to practice and experiment for when I paint my table/boards

More to come terrain wise but i'll be taking a break to work on my GMS's and MW challenge.

Thanks Dr. H

Finally got a game tonight. So I'll be finally dropping off all 15 pieces of terrain I built. Brought the camera so hopefully i'll get some good pictures.

Looks like I'll be playing against a SW air force. 2 Stormwolfs and 2 Stormfangs. Wow 4 AV 12 vehicles. This the new meta? I'll try to put up a battle report of me being flyer frozen to death.

Urgh, all that yellow makes me nauseous... it looks good, but when I try to paint yellow it goes horribly, horribly wrong. Good on you for the consistency. I also like that the yellow is a bit darker as opposed to imperial fists McDonalds yellow.

Thanks Aeroroot....I seem to better at getting a Lamenter yellow after much trial and error. My lastest stuff is more on the 'brown/red' side as compared to the original stuff I've done. ( Storm Ravens). When I put them next to the latest Stormtalons you can see a real difference.

I think the trick is the primer color and the shade color. White Primer makes it too bright. I use a white primer then a light Rust; followed by my base Yellow. This really makes the yellow more of a red or mustard look. I've seen lot of other techniques that work really well.. Check out Gitsplitter's tranquality marines or SAN76 Imperial fist. Both have made yellow work.

So when are you going to paint Lamenters riding giant cyber Cheetahs (counts as Thunda Cav)?

Lamenters ride sad pandas.

I like white undercoat for my Fools, because it saves me bunches of time and gives me the brightest possible look I can get-which is the point, but not for everyone. I like to make McDonalds yellow look dingy and dull!

Yellow on everything else is about layering thin, thin layers several times with drying time in between. If it doesn't look good, then chill out, wait for it to dry, and do it again. Start with an ochre which I think is a yellowy brown. Averland Sunset is actually a pretty strong pigment as far as yellows go. Takes 2 to 3 thin coats for a good basecoat.

The pink army always wins. You beat the pink army? Go ahead and brag about it. You lost to the pink army? Well, then....

No plans to use my Lamenters as Space wolfs. I'll wait for the new BA codex.. the SW have such unique figures and I'll leave it to better converters to try this. Besides I'm not going to invest in specific codex flyers ( No DA ones either )

As for my yellow formula I use Vallejo light rust followed by Golden yellow.

I had a great game last night against Yellowbeard. My Necrons vs. Spacewolfs. 1650 pt. Played Maelstrom mission with the tactical objectives.
Overwhelming victory 16vps to 2vps. I basically had 2 turns of capturing objectives uncontested. Due to the ability of my flyers to drop off troops easily at one turn time I held all 6 objectives.
When the wolves got stuck in they were tough. A single squad with characters generated a massive number of attacks. 50+ wiped out all my Deathmarks with Cryptek. Unfortunately my Dlord and wraiths we close enough to avenge them.
Took a few pictures ( using the new terrain ) at the end of the game. ( sorry no Battle report )
I still like the SW airforce list, but I think one would have to play them more agressive and look to alpha striking. The are tough to bring down being AV12 so more risk with them is expected.

Another Game against YB where I faced the SW again. This time the VP's were a bit closer 11vp to 5vp. with me getting the win again. I think it would have been closer if had the dice rolling being so good for me and so bad for YB. Night and day luck.

I took som pic's that I'll get posted this weekend. Not a battle report but you'll be able to see us playing on the new terrain.

On a cool note.. our warlords slugged it out for over 5 turns till finally on the last turn ( turn 7 ) I finally managed to slay his Wolf lord. Epic 40K.
