Hi all !

I recently painted an objective marker for Eden. It's a phone box from toy cars sceneries.
This marker was an excuse for me to try a product that a buddy from my club lent to me. It's something that historical modelists use to make weathering effects on their tanks, planes and so. It's from Mig Jimenez AMMO range, called "heavy chipping effects".

This are the WIPs shots.

And the final result, after adding weathering powders and final details. It turned out good, I have to practice a little bit to achieve a finer result, but for a firt attempt I'm happy with what I got.

There's a lot I can paint badly.
The thing is... I try not to !

I may have a go and paint a model using bad technics, awfull color scheme and post it on this blog. Just for you. Just for fun.

On of my next projects though will be to paint some Resistance fighters for Eden. In the middle, the main colors I'll use. You can try to guess what colour goes where.
(I never can remember... what's the difference between "color" and "colour"... is one american writing and the other one UK spelling ?)

First WIP shot on the test models. Nothing is finished, and the picture is not really good, but it shows the color scheme.
Alice is supposed to be black... so I decided to paint her blonde ! And Duncan will look definitely better as a black guy.

Ok guys (and girls), Duncan is over.
I finished painting him today. Alice is closed to completion too.

So Duncan and Alice are my two first models for the Resistance faction, for Eden.
I used them to validate my color scheme. I also used another Ammo by Mig product. This time I tried a product designed to create rust streaks.
It works pretty well, might do a step by step if you're interested.

I think you need an entire squad of Duncans... because they'd all look fantastic on the tabletop!

I can't.
But I hope the whole team will look as great as a full Duncan squad.

Do you mean Eden sculpts in general ? Or Duncan ?
Duncan is quite small and stocky, and he's wearing quite a lot of stuff, that makes him almost as wide as he's tall.

bebopdrums2424 wrote:I love the paint scheme...and I'm partial to anything pink

As I am with purple. And pink is quite some sort of purple, isn't it ?
You are clearly a man of taste.

Thank you !
Maybe I should take a picture of the whole Squad with its raider.

I have 4 more Resistants being painted on my desk, hope you'll like them too.

And now please welcome the wonderful Alice !
I really enjoyed painting her.

New Resistance fighter, this is Martin !
I really enjoyed painting this one. The sculpt is a bit approximative on the face, especially due to the mold lines running on his ears ( ) but apart from this it's a really cool model to paint. His pants are perfect, I felt like it was effortless to paint these.

I used the Ammo product for the rust streaks on the gas canister on his back, and I love the way it looks.

I made some touch-ups, and took a photo with his friends.

On more to paint and I'll have 100 points to play this faction. But don't worry I have several more to paint after that.

Ah fantastic work Minus as always...nobody does denim better than you thats for sure. You have that washed out dark blue look that i just love...the guy in the middle looks like my friend Dan lol....great scheme all round too. I stick with my thoughts about the man on the right...the sculpt is wonky to me...like the cigar is just massive in his mouth..like a can of primer lol....but the paint jobs are great

I'm back !
I've been really busy at home lately 'cause my little daughter was born end of march. Of course she's definitely the most beautiful "miniature" I've ever made.

But back to business !
I've found some time here and there to grab a brush an splat random colors on miniatures.

Firstly, I painted Jack.
Doesn't he remind you of someone ?

Now who you gonna call ?

A group shot with his friends :

And the latest model I painted is a small robot called freedom. This model was a good apportunity for me to use the Ammo of Mig chipping effect product.
I'm happy with the final result :

@ Gits : I replaced his weapons 'cause I didn't like them, I thought that electrowhips would look cool with his pose.

@ Bebop and GiraffeX : the guy on the right is small, grumpy, carries a miner drilling machine... he's basically a dwarf.

@ anyone : I was discussing with a friend lately, and we wondered if there was a specific english term for the edge highlights when painting miniatures.

Hi !
Well well well, almost 2 months since my last post... Looks like I've been quite busy lately.

To paint the denim, I use a blue plus black mix. I use ultramarines blue and added chaos black to get some sort of blue-grey. Then I put a blue wash everywhere (I use the old asurmen blue or army painters' wash). I shade the recesses with red wash (army painter once again).
It's now time for highlights. I get back to my base color and add space wolves grey. To get the denim effect, the secret is in the highlights. On the last steps, I don't try to get a smooth blending. Instead, I try to get textured effect, either with painting little dots, or with painting "grids". The last step is painted with pure space wolves grey.

Hope this helps. Maybe I could make a tutorial on a next model if someone is interested.

Now let's see what I've been doing lately (besides taking care of my daughter ^^ ).
First of all, I opened a blog because I wanted a place for me. Of course it's in french, but there are lots of pictures and google translator could help. And in case I'd have lots and lots of foreign visitors, I'd make english articles. My blog is there : http://code660066.blogspot.fr/

I also organised (and played) an Eden tournament. You can see lots of photos on my blog.

And I keeped painting Eden models.
Pamela :

And Ashton :

And to conclude, a friend created a post-apocalyptic game. We made demos last saturday on a Convention, so I painted a car for him. It was so funny that I borrowed him 2 more to paint !
