The hell, man. The hell. Didn't I tell you that you would make me kill myself if you scared me any more than you have? Well, I hope you're happy. Next time you hear from me, I'll be posting from a cramped little internet cafe...IN HELL!

Nah, I'll be on a cloud somewhere. You get great reception from that high up!

Thanks a lot guys.

I've gotten a lot done on the guns and the biomechanic parts, and made a base for it, and it's just about ready for greenstuff, then... Paint!

Btw, really really bummed out that Daemons popped up in august instead of csm. :(

Will you maybe add some bionic parts to the eyes or are you sticking with the daemonic look?

The biomechanical parts really add a lot of character to the model. Very nice work.

By the way, is the bit the marine has his arms plugged into a Maxmini jump pack?

The flyer turned out really awesome! Gotta admit, I'm bummed about the CSM codex being 'delayed" too but I'm also looking forward to plastic Nurgle daemons- finally!

I have toyed with the idea of using the Arachnarok spider for a defiler conversion for a long time, but since I'm thinking of getting a few blight drones to utilize the flyer rules, I may have to try something similar for a mega blight drone flyer. Just need to see what the rumored CSM flyer has, so I can match the weaponry.

Been awhile since I've commented, but this is the best CSM blog on Dakka, in my opinion. Your conversions are inspired, your painting matches your builds very well. Keep it up, man.

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

Thanks a lot! I'm hard at work doing greenstuff, so hopefully I'll start painting it tonight - I'm just having trouble deciding on the colour of the fly - dark or light colour?

Sure is.

First of all, simply fantastic! The integration of the weapons is flawless, and the biomechanic parts are great.

The one nitpick I have is the fact that the fly's eyes do look like a spider's eyes far more than a fly's (for obvious reasons ). Although changing that would probably mean a huge amount of work, and I am not quite sure it would be worth it.

Concerning the paintjob, I would definitely go for a lighter colour for the fleshy parts -- in keeping with the rest of your army. As for the carapace, maybe it's a bit too crazy, but what about doing that in an almost metallic green, to resemble the carapace of a bluebottle? Like so:

Or maybe even have it be iridescent? I have no idea if that's even possible with acrylics, but if anyone can pull off something like that, it's got to be you, GuitaRasmus

I had to cave in and give it real fly eyes:

First a tiny ball of greenstuff pressed out over the eyes, and poked with a small metal tube:

Then some white carpenters glue to make the eyeballs seem spheric:

I'm happy with the result - greenstuff is all done, tonight is airbrush time!

I wouldn't have thought it possible, but it's even more disgusting now. My hat goes off to you, good sir

I only realised just now how the weapon under the head seems to emulate a fly's proboscis: Is that a coincidence or did you do it on purpose?

Thanks y'all.

A bit of fun tonight with the airbrush - unfortunately the pic doesn't show it, but I used an ancient metallic green, so it has a bit of a fly's sheen to it.

Oh and one question, where did you get the "hood" for the dark magos/apothecary?

Yeah, I really like the effect too - It's just a bit problematic getting it to fit in with the rest of the armys colour scheme, since it's VERY green compared to the muted hues of the rest of the army.
