Aye. Coat still has a few more bits to go. Darker filter and then I give it a few scuffs and grazes to look a bit more worn.

I agree with Para here. I assume these guys will be pretty ragged being genies and all, and leather gets pretty scratched up if not taken care of.

yup - totally. I'm rocking along with the fluff on this. These fellas are coming from a mining colony so their gear is gonna be scavanged, repurposed, well used et al. Most of the cultists troops are wearing old miner hazard gear like boilers suits and the like - well worn and torn. The primus and the magus well be a little less raggedy due to their positions but still....not exactly hive spire elites! On the primus I'll glaze in some deeper shadows and then add so more scuffs and scratches using a medium/high tone. Wanted to get the genral colour and worn highlights done first. The inside lining is still quite bright and the bloody cultist symbol I painted inside is near totally covered by his legs (doh) but I tone that brightness down some and dusty it all up with some weathering powder to match the base. Realy liking these cultists - considering ordering one of the goliaths too Either that of the admech starter box or a blackstar....hmmmmm

GC dude looks great, the leather coat looks like real leather and his GS arms look fantastic. Love what you did with his sword.

Splendid stuff!

Out of interest, how easy do you reckon it'd be to take the arms off that model? I feel he'd make the basis for an awesome Inquisitor with different head/arms.

Looks top notch there Jan. As I've said before I absolutely love the way you did that sword. He truly looks like he's spent too much time down in the mines. Well done.

Cheers lads.
@para - totally doable. The head is separate, the claw attaches at the elbow and the pair of arms could be sawed straight off at the armour line. Very easy conversion

Cracking job on the Primus, I really like the natural colour scheme on the chitinous armour plates on the arm. Is he suffering from albinism or are you suggesting that he has not fully developed his Xenos nature?

My genestealers are even paler with a black olive carapace. The later generations are paler than humans but still have a little more 'colour' to them than the purestrains. I like the idea of almost albino like purestrians living in the dark on the hulks as they float through space and the warp for feth knows how long.

Unfortunately, he's not sold separately. The Magus, Patriarch, Primus and Familiars are all on the same sprue. You may have to find one on eBay.

They are pretty easy to find on eBay, usually £6-8 odd.

Cool reasoning behind the colouration Jan, starved of natural light and living in the depths.

Still got another 11 of these buggers to do from space hulk and how ever many from overkill. Still you get the idea

They'll look amazing in a game of Space Hulk mate. The colour scheme reminds me of the lurkers from the The Descent.

Nice. Have already played a couple of missions with TPDC via FaceTime. Really happy how the termies and stealers looked on board. The darker schemes really fit in well with the board sections and the whole ambience of the game.

Genestealers look great as usual Jan. love your choice in colour scheme. I like the blue underside on the Primus as a spot colour and the metal work looks fantastic as we have come to expect from you!

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Cheers a million guys. The above genestealers were done a while ago but thankfully I remembered to put the recipes into the app I use so the rest are following suit. I've only done the two cultists but enjoyed them much more than I expected. The DW:O boxed set really has turned out to one of GWs crowning releases. Think I'll do the mining laser fella next or maybe an abherrant.....

It has been an odd odd crappy couple of weeks. Have been lurking about but not many updates. Haven't really got a massive amount of stuff done. Between streaming on twitch, my hdd giving up game and seemingly now being dead plus RL, things have been a bit nutty. Anyways here's where we're at.
Tentative start on Ghast from the morticians, finally did something with the free slaughterpreist - he's now an ex-chrono gladiator cum Argo-flaggelant inquistional brute with electro whips. And built an onager with magnetized weapon loadouts. Just need to get some painting done. Will be streaming on twitch later today so hopefully make Some Progress on some stuff

Hope your painting mojo picks up Jan, you have a rarified talent.

Hopefully the hecticness has died down now and you will be able to get back into your usual swing, the stealers are astounding, I can't tell you how much I love all these muted natural colours on these guys. Sorry if you have already mentioned this, but which app do you use for your paint recipes? And do you have the one for these guys and their flesh to hand? I'd love to imitate it!

Cheeers folks. Hopefully get back into it soon. Still feeling a bit mush so will see how it goes.
The app I use is called PaintMyMinis. Really handy once you get the hang of it.
I try and put a tut on those stealers up at some point soon
