Just out of curiosity for you Lizardmen players out there:

Which lores do you prefer to choose from when picking spells for the Slann Mage-Priests?

I'm interested as to which lores most people think are best for the Slann, and the process by which you pick your lores.
Do you pick lores that have better "default" spells, choose your favorite lore and ignore others, or go for the lores that have the coolest "big" spells?

I usually go for the lres that have default zaooy spells like fireball, or default spell that are good, that way no matter what i roll, i get a spell I want. I usually take atleast one spell from the lore of shadow. i roll, then if I didn't get Pt of Shades, or if i did get pit of shades but i'm playing an army with a high I, then I take Steed of Shadows so i can get my slann out of trouble(I usually leave him by him self)

Fire- I aim to keep my SMP out of combat so all those magic missiles are golden.

Lore of metal is my next favorite and would be my first choice vs bretonnians or other heavily armoured foes.

Heaven, I am a sucker for Comet of Casandora. I have on more than one occasion wiped out a whole board with this spell... its so fun!

Ever notice that even with 5 rolls (always take the +1 spell item) and stick with 1 lore you will always get the 1 spell from that lore that you don't want?
I.e. The stupid flaming sword of rhun... on a Slaan I never, ever want in combat.

That doesn’t work on the Slann, though, because he’s not US1, right?

Correct he probably just never noticed that the spell doesn't work on the slann. It is however still useful at tossing other heroes in the lizzy army at the enemy.

Problem I find with steed of shadows is that my scar vet invariably has the jaguar charm and is sprinting around the enemies lines.

If I have a SMP then I'll only have the scar vet and a skink priest as well (and the skink priest is cowering in a forest to give telepathic LOS).

I just pick the lores depending on what I'm facing. I do love mistress of the marsh though.
