what color(s) of paint did you use for the purple, and the highlights on the purple?

I use GW Nagaroth Night and white paint. I highlighted by mixing white with purple and shaded each layer lighter and lighter as i painted.

I like your color scheme. One thing I think may help the look on the tank models are to put some more color onto the weapons/sponsons. For instance on this LR Ares, perhaps mix some of your copper colors into the weapon for instance.
You can definitely tell that your painting has improved a lot looking over this thread, keep up the good work!

Solid painting, solid models, solid army. Nice.
Friendly advice, read my signature, especially for the bikes, they look a bit fuzzy to me.

I love the color scheme! The purple and silver look awesome together! I think adding the static green grass to the bases...a perfect complimentary color to the purple. Real nice vindicator as well

Natural light is the best. When working out doors you may want to use a white box to put your models in to hide the natural background (take a cardboard/shoe box, cut out one side and paint it white). If you suffer from the shaking hand syndrom when it comes to taking pictures you may want to invest in an inexpensive small tripod. I think they can be found for $10-$20 online.

Overall I like the jobs you've been doing. Don't be afraid to use brighter metalics to highlight your model's metalic parts. They can really make the model pop.

I really like the colors and that stormraven is sick! The metal does need a wash though, but anyhow the overall impact is very nice. At least the OP is getting his army painted unlike some players I know who just critique and have mountains of models at home to finish. Very cool
