Whoa, those beastmen look good. Do you have an unpainted pic?

I do not have a shareable unpainted pic (I've got pics of the green, but it suffers from 'Multiple Materials make greens look terribad' syndrome ), but I think I'm building an Engineer to demo with at Templecon so I can take some pics then.

Ramos did post this pic of them primed though:

@Cat: I definitely understand about not liking the Dragoon's face. I must admit I failed to do the model justice in that regard. My skills are lacking in some regards, particularly in painting female faces, and its something I really need to improve. Take it from me, though- the sculpt is far more amazing than I make it look

I don't know if its the painting or the actual sculpted face, but when I look at that model it's body language scream HAPPY or at the very least enjoying herself. Basically I think the model needs a smirk. The rest of the model is fantastically painted though.

I really really wish my ants looked half as good as yours.

Awesome!

Leblanc is half a leg in the uncanny walley in my opinion, but I'll still going to buy it!

As a "Gentleman Thief" he has 'acquired' fancy clothes that are ill-fitting, and were fitted to someone else (their previous owner?). That gives him the odd baggy look.

That explains a lot actually.

Also it looks better on Cyps other picture. Maybe this one is just it's bad angle.

I think sometimes it comes down to just getting paint on the mini. Which says a lot about our sculptors, that they can 'see' what the end result will look like fully painted.

Canceled due to lack of interest.

Damn. I'm surprised at that. I was really looking forwards to some plastic anthropomorphic otters.

I think it was also due to Proxie Models not really being able to do real models just yet in plastic. I had also been in communication with them about a board game piece, but that also was too complex for him to make a mold for. His bases are absolutely amazing, but creating a more complex mold is something he is still tackling, I think.

This is a big part of it. With Proxie's pricing we would have been easily able to cover the costs for at least one unit, possibly doing a Kickstarter just to cover those costs upfront for several units. Without Proxie being able to do it we have to goto another firm, which is either in UK (IE Rendra or PDC) or China (IE Wargames Factory).

Any of those options increases the costs greatly, to the point where we could do it and sink the company if they don't sell.. or not do them in plastic.

We are opting to stay in business and keep releasing Brushfire units in Resin/Metal.

We could, but we only have the Otter Ashigaru meshes done ATM, and they need more work to be producible.. And I don't really feel like paying for that. Their sculpts have already cost around 6 times more then what a traditional sculpt would have costed.

Yeah, should it become viable, or I just win the lotto or something awesome, we'll do plastics.

In the meantime we'll work on finishing up the missing Troop options (such as Veldt Hounds) and get resculpts for some of the older/'crummier' Troops (Sand Guard, Fusiliers).

That's too bad. I had been waiting on the new otters to start a Ribengo force. :(

By curiosity, what was the difference in price? I assume it's mostly the initial molding that is the issue. Twice as much? Ten time as much? Even worse?

Yeah it was the molding, Proxie's prices would have been around 1/10~1/20th the price of going elsewhere. Both a steal and godsend for getting plastic figures done.

Plus I wouldn't need to ship a massive container of crap from China/UK whenever we needed a restock.

I just saw a picture of a bear. A big one. With axes.

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."
