hey fellow dakkafans, im trying to start my own Lotr warband and i was wondering what kind of advice you have for me
My idea is to let my haradrim flank and to punch with the other units Tips on what units to buy, unit compositions and that kind of things will be really apriciated

Ah, the Fallen Realms, possibly the most fun army in the game. Here's how I'd go about it:

1) Battle Line: This will form the core of your army, and you want basically an Easterling Shield Wall, with either a 2:1 Pikemen/Swordsmen ratio, or if you want to deploy a wider frontage from a single warband, a 1:1. Another trick here is to use Corsair spearmen as cheaper support if you don't want to splash out on pike-armed Easterlings that can get expensive. Throw a banner in here if you can, it should help keep them fighting well.

You can also use Corsairs as chaff models alongside the spear wall, spaced out so the enemy can't outflank and deny your extra attacks.

2) Flankers: Haradrim Raiders if you want a harassment contingent, if you want straight-up killing power then Kataphrakts led by Amdur are very nasty indeed, with awesome defence and killing power. Ideally, you want units of Cavalry on both flanks to keep the enemy guessing and force them to go central, towards your battle line.

3) Support: Banners in the battle line, killy heroes leading the cavalry, maybe shamans in the shield wall to give you a chance to shrug off some damage for a turn or two.

That's my general advice for Fallen Men, if you have anything more specific then I can try to answer that too.

Im not trying to make an competitive army, and ill be focusing on story line to. but really, thank you for the great advice The units I currently have are jjust three box sets, one of the corsairs, om of the easterlings and one of the haradrim. My plan was to have a cheap core of corsairs and haradrim but i didnt bought any of the lotr army books yet, so i dont know how cheap they are

Corsairs are very cheap, even with upgrades, and pretty good for the cost to boot. Haradrim can be a little more expensive, but are better archers. Easterlings are just awesome.

One of the many beauties of the LOTR system is that most of the time, it's not what you play, it's how you play it, so unlike 40k, whatever you throw in a list to follow the story will be pretty much balanced against most other armies.

A few corsair arbalesters will go a long way. Corsairs are awesome but low armour brings them down

Perry miniature's Muslims from their Crusades line have some figures that make excellent additions to the Haradrim.

Jackson did not depict them, but the Haradrim were composed of several Tribes, and that the city of Umbar provided more than just the Corsairs (who were simply pirates operating out of Umbar)

Umbar had its own military and troops, and was probably the Capital city of the Haradrim.
