This is a list I'm running tonight, C&C welcome. Thematically I'm basing the army off Cerberus from Mass Effect, working on the paint scheme now. Drop from the sky, walkers, gunships, you get the idea.

Sentinels of Terra - Better Bolter Drill

HQ

Librarian - No upgrades, keep him cheap cause I have to take an HQ to be bounded. Roll Telepathy for a lucky Shriek

Troops

Tactical Squad - 10 man - Plasmagun, Combi-Plasma, Heavy Bolter, Drop Pod
Tactical Squad - 10 man - Plasmagun, Combi-Plasma, Heavy Bolter, Drop Pod

These two will combat squad in any non kill points game(and maybe then too). The idea of the Heavy Bolter is one I'm trying out.
Heavy Bolter combat squads with 4 bolter troops. As Sentinels of Terra it will be twin linked within 18" so even on the turn it drops in it will probably score a hit. After that it's good anti-medium infantry. Plasma just cause Plasma's good.

Tactical Squad - 7 man - Plasmagun, Combi-Plasma, Drop Pod

Smaller Squad to babysit the Librarian.

Elites

Sternguards - 10 man - 5 Combi-Meltas, 3 Combi-Flamers, 2 Heavy Flamers, Drop Pod

These Combat Squad too. I figure with a 6" disembark from the pod they can each get to their intended targets against most armies. The combi flamers are a good counter-assault weapon. The heavy flamers shoot first, if there's something still within flamer range I might shoot the combis. If I dont and the enemy charges me(likely for light infantry, like nids and orks) then I get 5 wall of death attacks.

Ironclad Dreadnought - Seismic Hammer w/ Melta, Powerfist w/ Heavy Flamer, Assault Launchers, 1x HK Missile,
FW Dreadnought Drop Pod
Ironclad Dreadnought - Seismic Hammer w/ Melta, Powerfist w/ Heavy Flamer, Assault Launchers, 1x HK Missile,
FW Dreadnought Drop Pod

Trying out the FW Dreadnought Pod(a few more points, no gun, but it's an assault vehicle). These are for big things and heavy infantry(Plus they fit the Cerberus theme, gotta have Atlases).

Fast Attack

Assault Squad - 5 man - 2 Flamers, Meltabombs, Drop Pod ---- Cheap flamer unit, puts 2 scoring units on the board.

Land Speeder - 2x Multi-Meltas ---- Starts off-board or hides behind LoS Terrain. Hunts tanks, self explanitory. Cheap fast scoring unit if it lives.

Heavy Support

StormRaven - Multi-Melta, Sponson Hurricane Bolters --- Anti-Flier, Anti-Tank, Anti-Horde, Anti-whatever

I like it, but chill with the combi weapons. Drop the Combi- Flamers.

Hey cmspano, I like the list but i do have a few things to say.

Taking the HB on 2 tactical squads with SoT is a good idea, although the 20 points could also be put towards something else.
.
Cut back on the combis on the sternguard, 4 Combi meltas will be enough and lose the combi-flamers, the 2 heavy flamers is more than enough to give a squad a roasting.

On the ironclads lose the HK definitely, i guess you will be wanting to get both of these into CC asap so they seem slightly wasted. The iron clad assault launchers im neither here nor there on.

Cheap assault squad and land speeder are good.

If you decided to lose the heavy bolters, excess combis, HK missiles and the assault launchers you would have 100 points spare, which means you can squeeze in a TFC.

Good luck with the game though!

Thanks for the advice, I have not actually tried a TFC yet, I've seen them used and they look good. That's next on the list of things to run.

I might run the librarian with the assault marines and bump the 3rd tac squad to full strength. The AM’s have the spare space in their pod, and another 10 man tac would let them combat squad out if needed.

There's a lot of fat in the list that could be skimmed to make the list leaner and meaner. I'm largely going to agree with the 2 posters above on what can be dropped (and what can't). So here goes:

Libby is fine if anything a second level could be good. Invisibility is stupid good.

Heavy bolters are good with Sentinels. You're tacs are fine.

Sternguard don't want all combis. Drop the combiflamers not worth 10 points each. You will need 5 mrltas to have a decent chance of killing the vehicle you point them at now due to new damage table.

HKMs should be spammed or dropped. In a dp army you have enough alphastrike so drop them.

Assault squad is fine, though meltabombs are unnecessary. Landspeeder is a bit out of place.

Stormraven doesn't really need Hurricanes they are very expensive for a vehicle that is mainly AT.

That's enough to get a Stotmtalon (similar job to LS but better and more fitting) and some other upgrades, probably go for Lvl2 on the Libby.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

With SoT I think you should be spamming bolters and bodies or going with a different chapter tactic. Majority of your points don't benefit from bolter drill, and much of gets no benefit what so ever -- so it just seems meh to me.

With the iron clads and low model count iron hands seems better for the models selected.

One critique I would give you is that at 1850 - 3 Troops choices tends to be on the lighter side of things.

You could easily just LOSE the heavy bolter and run without a heavy weapon if mobility is your aim.

That being said, the librarian would be better served as mastery level 2, so you have 2 chances at rolling invisibility as well as having shriek.

If you CAN cast both its well worth it. Especially against high BS armies.
