Looks like. Not sure if I agree with this or not as this is a big change that can force a lot of players to rethink their play styles and army list, on the other hand I can now use my Lord Mazdamundi in a 1600 point game which I am happy about.

Just a heads up that there are threads on this already (one in tactics I think and one in news and rumours)

Definitely going to house rule it to the old way (the way it was yesturday lol)
At least it gives me fun stuff to try I geuss if I use the rule lol

Not a big deal either way, definitely a very interesting and game-altering update. If I still played I'd totally run a Grey Seer on a Bell and a Verminlord at the same time in a 2000 point game just for gaks and grins.

That's a huge weak point of the change. High points cost characters were balanced-ish by their high points cost disallowing the use in regular games. Furthermore, a lot of expensive models are strong wizards and further strengthening the impact power of magic in a vanilla WHFB game is a terrible idea as it shifts the power to a less manageable and considerably less strategic part of the game.

It's the only way GW *could* take without many changes, though, as single characters are less expensive to buy than regular units.

WOO! nagash in 2k games. This is great because now I can summon 300+ points per turn or 15% of the total game!

It's a good day to be dead. But in all seriousness I think this will severly unbalance the game and will likely see it not allowed in tournaments.

We are still limited to 12 power dice. I think that keeps the mages in line. Sure you can have 2-3 level 4s now but will you have dice to power their spells.

I am excited for it. Sometimes WFB seems too static and I'm sure that turns off the edge/fringe players. It needs some excitement. I'm all for it.

12 PD limit hasn't kept vanilla WHFB in line for the entirety of 8th

Saw this coming to be honest, it's just games workshop tying in the end times with the regular rules.

Doesn't really effect my warriors army, sure I can deck out my daemon Prince more than normal, but my characters are too expensive to spam, plus most of my attack power comes from elsewhere, less warriors, crushers, chimerias and chariots.

My ogres like this change i can finally take my hunter on stonehorn in games and still have my bsb. (As you can guess i dont do tornies or "competitive"). As my characters cost so many points its good for me, as to so much magic i rarely use anything but a level2 and occasionaly it bites but most of the time i dont feel im missing out. (Your own area/play group my differ).

I was actually happy about this. Now I can have my Keeper upgrade to a level 4 in 2000 pt. games & take demonic gifts.

It might actually bring combat lords out too.

As much as I love Chaos Lords due to the awesome stats, I never run one because as a general rule of thumb, a level 4 wizard is worth his weight in skulls.
