Hi.
I'm about to start a Menoth army and this is the list I came up with. Keep in mind that this is my first Warmachine list ever. Questions below.

Caster: unknown
+ Reckoner 8 pts

Exemplar Bastions (5 models) 8 pts
Exemplar Bastion Seneschal 3 pts
+ Repenter or Vigilant 4 pts

Holy Zealots (10 models) 6 pts
Monolith Bearer 2 pts

Choir of Menoth (4 models) 2 pts

Vassal of Menoth 2 pts

Total of 35 points.

The Vassal supports the Reckoner. The Choir supports both jacks. The Repenter/Vigilant stays in base contact with the Seneschal for the most part.

Like I mentioned above I'm new to this. I have a couple of questions regarding this list:
1. First of all, how can I improve it?
2. Which caster would be the best for this list and why?
3. Repenter or Vigilant? I like the Devout model but I don't have enough points.
4. Are the Bastions worth the points or should I swap them out with a different unit? I heard Errants are good.

Any advice would be appreciated

EDIT. I also came up with a second list.

Caster: unknown
+ Reckoner 8 pts
+ Reckoner 8 pts

Exampar Errants with Officer and Standard (10 models) 10 pts

Choir of Menoth (4 models) 2 pts

Vassal of Menoth 2 pts
Vassal of Menoth 2 pts
Rhupert Carvolo 2 pts
Wracks 1 pt

Yeah, you need to have a caster in mind because they have warjack points.

What do you actually own that we could make a list from?

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Ok. That makes things easy.

I'll make you a pSeverius list.

pSeverius
-Blessing of Vengeance
-Reckoner
-Vanquisher
-Heirophant

min Choir
max Errants with UA
Errant Seneschal
Vassal of Menoth

35 pts

This will get you started,

Expanding from here, you'll want to get

Another Vassal
Rupert Carvolo
Covenant of Menoth
Temple Flameguard with UA OR Zealots with UA(get both eventually)
Wracks
Bastions and Bastion Seneschal(the Seneschal Marshalling a couple Repenters is great under Severius's Eye of Menoth spell)
Devout

A second warcaster. eFeora or pKreoss would be good choices.

Thanks. Looks good to me.
One more question. I noticed that some units are characters like the BoV or Rhupert. Are there any restrictions in games as to the usage of these characters?

Yes.

Character models(Warcasters are also characters) can only be taken once in a list.

In addition, in tournaments, most of them have a character restriction. In that in your multiple lists, each character can only be in one of your lists(epic versions count as different for this purpose, although you still cannot have two versions of the same character in the same list)

No. Warcaster points reduce the total points you spend on warjacks by the amount listed.

pSeverius is WJ: 6.

41-6=35

They effectively come with free points to spend on warjacks.

Going back to your list. Is it worth to swap out the Seneschal for a second Vassal? Also, would Rhupert be better than those two in a 35-point list?

Your choice really.

Most Protectorate lists will run 2 Vassals if they've got 2 heavies. Too good not to.

When you get up to 50(the standard point value) you will definitely have 2 Vassals.

I put in the Seneschal because Hunter is a really really nice ability for the Errants to have. Between Hunter and Blessed their crossbows ignore just about every defensive ability in the game because Stealth.
