As you may have guessed from the title, if I boost my attack roll but then miss, and I reroll, do I reroll three dice or two?

You roll 3 dices. You have boosted the attack and it remains boosted until the attack is resolved.


However, if you did not boost and you missed, you couldn't boost the re-roll.

It depends on the feat/spell/ability too. Some don't specify (so a full reroll), some say you can choose which dice to reroll.

What specific ability or effect are you asking about?

It doesn't matter. If an effect allows you to reroll all dice involved in a roll you roll the same number of dice for the reroll you would roll for the initial roll.
