I have made a batch of my own flock but am finding that it is taking ages to dry. I was wondering if there was a way to speed this up. It is hot outside but this doesn't appear to be leading to faster drying. I don't want to use a fan - for obvious reasons. What does everyone else do?

Any more info you can give? Specific ambient conditions (temperature and humidity), time elapsed, thickness of layer, etc. Depending on those factors, your flock could take several days to dry (as I think I mentioned in your previous thread) - wood is quite absorbent and a poor conductor of heat, after all.

If you didn't add anything too caustic to the mix, you may want to spread some out on foil, place it on a cookie sheet, and pop it into the oven. An oven has the benefit of introducing dry heat in a controllable manner. You don't want to scorch anything, but you can safely raise the temperature above what even Australia is capable of achieving, naturally. A few hours at about 175F should put it well on its way to dry, if you spread a thin layer.
