Hey all you dakkas, hope everything is goin well.

Never posted on any online forum before, so here goes nothing. Might be a long post but hey, at least it'l be a good introduction will post a Tl;DR

I used to play warhammer fantasy/40k/magic the gathering/dnd as a kid but never completed a playable warhammer force, haha. Had about one squad from each 40k race and one or two fantasy units. I just painted and made Frankenstein stuff for fun with my friend who unfortunately moved away. Subsequently got bored, stopped collecting and gave away my minis to someone who would actually use them. I was quite a social hobbyist, but I didn't like going to the GW to paint. the closest Games Workshop was scary and hostile for me back then. Went to paint there once and had an ink container burst in my box on the way there and one of the employees was quite mad at me for no reason, and chewed me out for it (It burst in my lil box o' paints and got none of the store stuff got inked).

Fast forward to uni, and I start playing magic the money gathering as my gf back then got me into it. Collected for two years and enjoyed playing with my buddies two nights a week. Due to cost they all sorta stopped playing. Same deal as above in that I don't like going to stores to play really, I much prefer kitchen table games. I'm not scared about employee hostility anymore just more so lazy and into casual games, lol.

I recently re-installed all my dawn of war games and started watching youtube vids about warhammer and decided what the heck, I have a decent amount of free time, patience and a little bit of disposable income, why not get back into it?

I always had a soft spot for chaos (and foremost Nurgle, if you couldn't tell),but I couldn't exactly tell you why (maybe after some trench coat wearing leather hat Indiana Jones looking guy in summer school yelled at me for saying I played chaos. I understand you spece mahrins and imp guards can get pretty passionate about the emprah).

TL;DR: Played warhammer fantasy and 40k as a kid, quit when my warhammer bro in arms moved away. Boredom, love of warhammer 40k universe and free time prompted me to get back into it. Chaos are my number one fav army, and nurgle my fav of the chaos gods. Looking to build a small 500 pts fluff force of chaos or imp guard renegades. How prevalent are 500 pt games nowadays?

Will post two lists in the army list sections and I would definitely appreciate some help

Anyways, off to bed after I post those lists. I'm sick (fitting for a nurgle player ) and I have work tomorrow. WIll check the forum tomorrow after work.

Have a good night and may father Nurgle bestow his glorious blessings upon you!

Just relax man, chill out take a deep breath and remember it's all ogre now.

Thanks for the warm welcome, friends

Yeah the lore is just so deep I remember reading the codex stories for fun as a wee one! I have gotten some help so far, but if you want to take a look, here are the two lists I have down: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/647378.page

Haha, SBG you from cowtown? Howdy you excited for that stampede eh? Dem roughriders eh?

Thanks Grimskul, is there a distinct lack of Canucks on this here forum? Or just always good to reinforce, right? Having fun is definitely the plan!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
