You all know it.
Renegade. The box is sitting right next to my and I'm wrecking my brain on how to paint (or let them be painted) in a manner that fits everything I want.

I need it to be fluffy. This need simply be. Since one of my main armies is Dark Angels, the Three Witnesses come to the forefront.
They also need to be similar in a way, since my 2nd Army is Admech for which I need one to field the War Convocation in the future.
I went with the iconic Mars scheme.
Also the knights need to be somewhat similar since I need to be able to swap about the weapons as needed. So no red Knight and green Knight.

This leads to the prime candidate - The Crucible of Wrath:

and the other in the standard mars pattern.

Easy enough so far. But here my thoughts crumble.

BUT what if I need, in one role or the other, be able to field two knights for whatever reason? Either in the Convo or in support of my Angels?
Wouldn't that look somewhat silly, a Knight with Mechanicus Iconography and the other with DA plastered all over it?
Should I simply go with 2 AdMech Knights and discard the Three Witnesses idea (but it is OH SO FLUFFY!)? DA's are not known to go along with AdMech so well.
Should the 3rd unknown witness be a sister enginge to the Crucible and look out of place with the War Convo?

This is the first worldy of the first world problems. Jeez.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: No. Do you realise how rare these things are? If they were to actually show up in multiples on a battlefield, there would be nothing weird about them coming from different houses, each with their own paint schemes, backgrounds and traditions.

All Knights have at least some ties to the Mechanicum. I built my 2 as Imperial-aligned, but I fully intend to field one blue and silver Knight in my work-in-progress War Convocation. My house is simply honoring the oath they made to the Mechanicum.

I can tell you that I painted mine in gold & grey. My stormsurge is a bit too effective, so I'm going to replace it with a knight. And, so my opponent doesn't get discouraged playing against a SHW, I'll offer my other one to them. Think something along the lines of Mal, from Inception. A shepherd tasked with bringing the wayward sheep back to the fold (and showing up in any number of odd locations to look for them).

And a Civil War never is
