I just bought a set of skeletons, and man are they fiddly to put together . Anyone else having assembly issues with the new kits?

I'm not quite sure what to think of them. Mantic's commitment to the Egyptian theme seems half-hearted.

First pic is my unpainted skeleton warriors i just put together, the rest are stock photos of the studio army.

Thanks - I don't think Mantic's paintjobs do their models credit in many cases and maybe this is one? Even so, the design direction of these miniatures is pretty vague. I think they need a fairly strong paintjob to save them.

from what angle?

detail is good. shields are excellent. flash is minimal.

How do the shields attach? Could one replace them with Khemri shields?

the shields have an indent for the regular undead shields to fit into.

for the new metal EoD bodies, they have a bulb/socket combo.

I just hate metal... no matter how well I seal them, without fail the paint chips off

What are you using? And do you prime?

I don't get it. Aren't there replacement metal torsos for all minis in the box? Why are there shields that go over plastic bodies?

I really was not sold on the spearmen from the official Mantic pics, but your pics (Lord Marcus) make them look good.

I am really not a fan of fancy shields, but the red and bronze seems to play down the fancy shape of them.

There are, but if you want them to rank up effectively or look cohesive as a unit the conversions are necessary. Further thr metal bitz are split between poses for spears and reg skeleton warriors.

I have the same problem. I use metal spray primer and seal afterwards, but it seems like I'm always touching up chipping.
