I wouldn't be surprised if they just forgot about him. It's obvious the Imperial Guard only exist at this point to serve as punching bags to make the Space Marines(tm) look better. Well, them and the Sisters but at least they get a protagonist.

yes he does in the story but one hand is cut off the other pistol he dropped while getting crushed.

People need to remeber this is only part 1 of at least 2 books.

I think their barely doing anything in Fall of CADIA and Creed/Kell's lack of new model in the "Triumvirate" (I know, I know, it means three leaders) tells us they're on the Squat'ing rack.

The only reason he survives - if he doesn't die at the end of his injuries whilst hoping the SPACE MARINES(tm) come and save them - is probably due to their fears over actually killing off a named character with a model after The End Times.

Book 2 will just be the super duper uber heroic Space Marine(tm) reinforcements getting a bajillion new kits. Book 1 was the bone thrown to the 'mere mortals' (and Celestine) of the Imperium who need to be set up as the punching bags to make the Astartes(tm) look even cooler for beating the Big Baddon.

What would even be in Part 2? Exterminatus of Cadia?

Actually with Creed getting hurt in the fluff it's more likely that his classic model is getting a new look. As for Kell...yeah, he might not make it. If he does he may be more prosthetic than man after meeting Horus.

Heh, seen some of the leaks, noticed one of the Sisters orders having orange cloth instead of white, red, black, or silver. That's a change. Can't say it looks good, but it's more variety than we have had.

Do the models look different than our current ones, or are they just a new variety of our classic paperweights?

It was a page of drawings of a list of participating chapters, guard units, and such, not a mini.

Egh I doubt it. GW is in the age of giant $30+ dollar plastic special characters with lord of war stats. And the imperial guard only has 1 real character to fill in that role. With terra under siege they have to name a new master of the armed forces (aka lord Solar). The last being macharius.
The imperial guard literally have no characters left to fill that void. Catachan characters are devoid in sales and fluff. So you got creed and old man yarrick who is to old and not part of Astra Militarum.

The whole crippling of creed is an excuse to create some nonsense like super mecha-powerfist creed. Guard are still one of GW stronger sales armies and regularly is up on thier website with top selling kits regardless of who wins in the fluff. And so far the only imperial saving anyone in this story is Saint Celestine saving a bunch of people, space marines were getting wiped out, with the guard, and storm troopers. The only saviors in this story ironically are going to be dark eldar as even the necron tryzn has given up and is looking for some trophies.

I was also under the impression that Cadia is going to be destroyed- probably from the artwork that accompanies the text describing the pylons failing..?

So a planet of the imperium is threatened by a great menace, the hero of the guard loses an arm but escapes.....sounds like Armageddon. So the next battle will see creed take one of Horus arms and replace his with that one....Yarrick wants his storyline back
