They look a lot like broken links to me. Not sure if that is what I want in a biovore.

as far as i know they were an idea "pitched" to forgeworld a while back that never got the go ahead. thats what i got from tactical command anyways, those guys really have a good handle on all things epic.

Good attempt at minis, but highly unlikely that GW would use them.

Especially since they're better then what they would come up with.

If I know my GW, they'll send these guys a letter saying "Thank you for your interest. Now cease making these or we'll send in the legal team."

Just to give you an idea of how "fail" SG was, they had the SM prototypes from FW to use for the new Marine sprue but they took the old ones instead (which were on eBay for pennies per pound) and made a new sprue from them.

The net effect was that there was no real reason to buy the new Marine sprue. I've no idea the thinking at GW sometimes.

Aren't they C&E's epic greens? I've seen the Tyranids cast up and their quality is frankly amazing.

they are amazing, but sadly GW doesnt care enough about epic to push it again. like i said it really doesnt matter, the epic community is strong enough to survive even without support from GW.

I've still got a bunch of the old epic Chaos Androids that I was planning on using for a Necron force. Sigh...

I very much doubt that. The influx of players is almost non-existent. The game is dying a slow death.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I tend to find that if you show Epic, then you will find players. I demo'd Epic down a local club a couple of months ago. Now we have four three new regular players, plus some interest from other club members.

Games with strong rules-sets, decent background and cheaply available minis with continue to survive because people want play them. No-one plays 40k because of the rules-set or because the figures are cheap (in fact its probably the reverse, in that you have spent so much on the figures you feel compelled to play the game system).

Aye, there's the rub. The supply of Epic minis is a finite resource. GW can pull the plug from SG at any moment, as they've already done from FW's Epic assortment.

The FW epic molds really were deteriorating. The models I purchased recently were fine in places... but not so fine in others, especially the track wheels for example (or complete lack of them in the case of my stormblades and stormswords!).

So I don't think this is a matter of GW pulling the plug.

Maybe SG's range will at some point be withdrawn, but for the moment you have the complete range of models available for what is by far their best game and the added incentive that they aren't going to release a new army book and invalidate half your collection!

Personally I think GW has always kept the design of the Epic minis 'sub par' because they fear if they make them as good as they could folks might start using them for regular 40K. Certainly that is the reason I think they've never done 15mm.

I also agree Epic doesn't seem so great until you actually play it. I was never that impressed until someone made me play a game and then I got hooked. As a real 'army' game it is far better than Apoc and certainly cheaper and more practical.

I not think GW or FW will do anything with epic now.
An friend who want to order some epic stuff just get that email :

"Hi

Thank you for your email

Unfortunately we have now discontinued the epic range, it is now in a
review period to decide if the range should be re launched.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause

Thanks
Forge World
"

So I not think they will release new army for an discontinued range : )

All the best ;

That's pretty depressing. The multi-part epic space marines FW produced (and sold at events only) were brilliant.
