I have finally got round to watching this movie in 3D (yes i know it's been out for ages but with kids and work, well.....)
Anyway, i was wondering if anyone had attempted a Na'vi army at all and if so, which Codex they have thought to use?
They sound like a great army to make, though i think the Na'vi would have to be scaled down to human size, maybe wood elf minis?
Anyway, thanks for your help.
Andy

Furries in 40k? HERESY!
I won't get to see it until it's out on DVD, lol...and by the sound of things I'll probably be disappointed.

I don't think you will, mate.
It's a fantastic film.
Going back to my idea though, maybe Witch elves would be good too?
Also, codex? Was thinking even the Tyranid Codex to take into account the flying creatures and Beasts? Or Imperial Guard?

The old kroot mini codex would have covered them almost perfectly. A few counts as for Na'vi on the bird things and your set. The best normal codex would be nids. They have no vehicles, loads of MC and lots of kinds of suitable infantry.
Sidstyler don't worry about being dissapointed the film is amazing, definately one of the best films I've ever seen.

I don't think that planet would survive long in the 40k universe. I can see mushroom clouds and virus bombs hitting that planet faster than a fat lady at in all you can eat bacon and cheesecake buffet.

Have to be honest, this race screams TAU to me.
I think Tau were probably alot like this before their bout of rapid evolution.

I agree that the Tau seem to be the best fit for Avatar. Also, I saw it in 2D on a big screen and it was still pretty amazing. Get it on blu-ray instead of regular DVD.

While the visuals were good, everything else about the movie was pretty much crap.
To be honest, they might make more sense in fantasy than 40k, perhaps wood elfs.
Other than that though, the nid codex would probably work, using MC's and maybe Warriors for the normal Furries
